Hilarious that Jeremy Howard and Rachel Thompson have been saying you need a human in the loop from the beginning.

And now finally we discovered that we need to put a human in the loop.

This was also my experience, one look at the full spec and I tuned out.

I understand that this is not the tool for everything but scxml, state chart XML, gives you something like this but something that you can actually read without investing time learning syntax.

It also has some plugins on vs code that allow you to edit it visually in case you don't want to write a bazillion XML tags.

I just wanted to thank you. Snowboarding kids 2 was a game me and multiple members of my family played. Got a lot of nostalgia for it and I just appreciate that someone is putting their time and energy into the game after all these years!

Are there any insights that you can give based off the info you've learned about quantum computation that you might not have been able to reach if you hadn't learned about it?

From my __very__ shallow understanding, because all of the efficiency increases are in very specific areas, it might not be useful for the average computer science interested individual?

Thanks for the information. I was aware it was originally an essay that was compiled into a book. And now that I know it's pretty light I'm even more motivated to read it.

In relation to your LLM comment, I was on the Wikipedia page for Frankfurt's Book and there is a specific mention of Bullshit of the LLM variety:

Frankfurt's concept of bullshit has been taken up as a description of the behavior of large language model (LLM)-based chatbots, as being more accurate than "hallucination" or "confabulation". The uncritical use of LLM output is sometimes called botshit.[0] (at the bottom of the section)

This might be slightly tertiary but my interest in this subject has also led me to 'The art of being right' by Arthur Schopenhauer.[1] Which doesn't explicitly state that it's bullshit but it is rhetorical sophistry dedicated to winning arguments and debates. And many of the tactics in the book smell just as bad as any Bullshit. There's some modern reprints floating around and it's also a pretty light book.

I'm currently reading "Calling Bullshit - The art of skepticism in a data driven world" by Carl T Bergstrom and Jevin D West.

Harry Frankfurt is mentioned in the preface of this book. And "On Bullshit" will probably be my next book I read on the subject.

I use this prompt with chat GPT and A plug in that will do text to speech. I find just having some suggestions allow me to help formulate my own response. I use Windows 11 built in speech to text and verbally speak the options so it helps reinforce patterns for the language.

You can tweak the prompt to include any of the specifications that you listed in your post. There just might be some trial and error. I think there are some paid platforms on the Android,but this is what works for me.

My pet theory is that Satoshi is actually named after the main character from Pokemon[1]. Which is also the name of the creator of pokemon[2]. And the creator created Bitcoin and other derivatives with the game theory he came up with and refined in the Pokemon series. (Addictive,'gotta catch em all' shitcoins)

I've always thought it odd that perfect pitch is the only skill I've encountered that routinely is claimed is only obtainable in childhood. read: cannot be learned as an adult.

I'm not arguing for either side.

Weird that basically most humans at any age can learn any skill except this one.

This is kind of the thing that's stopping me from learning Haskell. My first language is javascript and my fluent language is python. And, I just can't see really getting any work done quickly, fastly, and efficiently not in either of these languages.

Even though I am studying category theory right now I feel I have so little incentive to learn Haskell because I don't think I'll ever use it except with category theory. And I get that category theory is kind of like native to Haskell but I could still explore those concepts in a lisp but that compiles to Javascript or something.

My concrete example is the Haskell Web framework IHP. I tried to get it working on my windows machine for two days and couldn't get anything smooth to work. Granted I have rsi and cannot use my hands as much as the next developer. However, when new frameworks like fastHTML pop up where everything is on one python file and immediately ready to go, It's really hard to convince myself to go through the trouble and pain to get to the same spot with Haskell as I can with another language immediately.

This is specifically just for categories I haven't touched anything else, But what I did is I constructed my own category based off of perfect rhymes[0]. And for each property that he introduced I tried to assemble some rules so that it fit. I've got it proved for just the bare basics of a category (Reflexivity transitivity, Composition) And the binary operation is just a rhyming relation. Concept wise I'm kind of hung up on products and Co products. I think I understand them when they're in a category But I'm not really understanding it in the abstract sense.

I am on the 5th video in this series. *I can not recommend Richard Southwell enough.*

He is an extremely clear communicator with the ability to break down Extremely abstract things in a way that makes them easily digestible.

For context I am a hobby mathematician who is only worked a quarter of way through proof book. I know some set theory and some trigonometry really. Just with that knowledge richard Southwell has been able to convey some extremely deep connections in mathematics in a way even I can understand them.

The intro video to this course talks about an extremely steep learning curve but a very very nice payoff halfway through the course and he's absolutely right! Computational Trinitarianism blew my mind. I had always been spotting out little patterns and random little pockets of math and seeing that those are not accidental and are usable and Studiable has really changed in my understanding of what mathematics actually is and what it can do.

Once I am done with this course I am going to dive into his strictly category theory one.

The only thing that's A slight damper is that there are no canonical homework questions. He has directed open study which is really really great for self exploration, however.

And I'm misunderstanding how you don't see my comment as an extension of your idea. I'm talking about how to automatically load, process, and train a model based off an entire file system and programs which is an extension of what you said?

Consider taking the set of all cli programs that you can pipe inputs and Outputs to,

Then take your entire file system tree,

Use just a few rules so that like image stuff isn't opening up sound files

Cook your CPU and maybe suffer from catastrophic forgetting?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, neural Turing machines were a good step but because Transformers do everything in parallel and don't have to read a tape and they more powerful but less efficient?
