More CO2 is generated by remote employees than those that go to work. The CO2 emissions generated by an office (including heating / AC / water / employee transportation - in EU it's mostly by subway / bus) are smaller compared to each individual employee CO2 emissions.

that's a nice path. But what if you misstep and forget to enable the right vpn? You work and your social selves will get merged.

Started as a backend developer (still have a lot of skills in that area) but slowly transitioned to front-end, where things are more exciting.

I am learning the concepts behind every front-end framework I am working with and discover both the good and the bad parts. Hence I can adapt to any new and shiny thing out there.

I maintain a couple of side projects for which I've also done some support for and realized the amount of difference the right message/explanation can make (regardless of how beautiful the code was written).

I am looking to bring value to a company either as an employee or as an external consultant.

I've been where you are.

Here are some things that worked for me:

1. Get some time off. Don't work, just relax, read things, try to find real problems from people around you.

2. Start a project with someone. Anyone. Accountability works really good.

3. Try to concentrate on one things, making it good enough.

4. I've found that listening to entrepreneurship podcasts works wonders for motivation.

And to end this comment: the moment you've got $1 in your account you stopped being a wantrepreneur :)

I'm planning to use a similar model OSS / commercial as well. Mike and Sidekiq is my inspiration for this. Good luck going further with the project and congrats for the launch!

For the last few years, I've read a lot on conversion optimization articles.

Reading this, summarizes 90% of the tips and tricks that I learned. Glad you HNers enjoy it!

Don't know about your target market but to me 10x increase sounds a whole lot better than 1.x conversion rate. + I would have loved to see a video with the checkout process

It would have been interesting to see comparision before and after TwoTap. Still, 1.x conversion sounds good for mobile un-targeted traffic.

I am actually using AngularJS to rewrite an old project for a client. The reason I chose it is not because of popularity alone, but because it makes my code easier to read and it adds responsive interface to it.

Don't aim for a growing trend in regards to frameworks, aim for productivity and user experience.

Don't give up! You have a lot to improve on your website, marketing & UX.

Here's what I think: 1. I only saw the "Feedback" widget AFTER seing the movie. Either make it bigger or point a big arrow on it. 2. I'd love if I could adnotate highlights with some text. 3. Your prices are too close together, so the cheapest one still seems expensive. Try testing with 2x price for Start up and 10x for enterprise.

If I were you, I'd try to find more customers within 1-2 months. Then, see if the current big customer is actually right in asking for a iOS version.

There are 3 tools that I use extensively:

* jpegMini, for removing EXIF info from jpegs

* optiPNG, for removing extra pallettes from pngs

* gifsickle, to optimize gif's

It's amazing on how much junk bytes you can have in your images. I used them for everything, from my picture collection to my site porfolio.

did you gave the thought to copywrite infringement? What actually stops you to share that dvd with your extended family and friends and colleagues and so on?

weight: this is th most important. it's a laptop, you carry it around, so it should be confortable to carry

SSD: speeds everthing up

keyboard/trackpad: you're a developer, so you write a lot. Make sure it's confortable to do so

screen: you spend a lot of time in front of the screen, so make sure you get something that's easy on the eyes.

i would recommend guest posts: they work for google (you place a link to your website in the author info section), but they also bring other website traffic to you.

You're right about a trial version... Can be quite tricky.

I doubt it can be a business, but it could be a nice side income.

I like the idea of mixed license. However, do you think anyone uses a/b testing for personal/non-commercial purposes?

At the current price (also growing as we speak), I think it's difficult to use bitcoins for buying stuff. Everybody is hoarding them, hoping for increases; hence the growth.

How much will you pay for a coffe or an icecream? .0045 BTC? I see btc as a proof of concept that worked: easy, distributed way of transfering money.

"And you can cancel the contract at any time." -> this is wrong. unless you're selling a saas project, you shouldn't do that. it makes you look less serious and would make the customer think twice, because cancelling goes both ways.

also, I would put the full name in the "team" page, and maybe a link to the linkedin profile.
