third-party clients

Funny how this is the only thing that keeps me from switching from Emby to Jellyfin is the atrocious state of their "own" apps. My last attempt failed when I had to use their Android client. Since I've discovered Wolphin and Findroid it looks a lot more plausible but I just don't have enough pain and lifetime Emby Premiere was still reasonable when I bought it.

Sounds like a control fetish to me. I'm a meat sack controlled by an organical electro-chemical controller that I'll never fully understand; which doesn't even obey me most of the time but that doesn't keep me from doing things.

Sorry but wtf is that guy on?

I need my machine to work. I can't spend an afternoon tweaking my computer anymore.

Until Microslop OS decided on its own that you haven't had a reboot in a while and since we're at it some of the drivers you desperately need suddenly are not kosher anymore.

When stuff breaks I prefer something I'm actually allowed to repair. That's just me.

Don't forget to save your Google Flow Music collection before we shut down this service.

More like most people are dragging a cruise ship through a desert while being baited with the possible opportunity to belong to those enjoying the endless buffets and on-board water park.

This whole "should we ration so everybody gets some" is complete BS. There is an abundance of resources that are concentrated to a few and the rest made to suffer. We don't have to ration, we have to prevent the greedy from hogging it all. It's quite the opposite.

Same discussion every decade. Industry earns ever higher profits. Artists earn ever lower. Piracy still as strong as before all the effort and time wasted. Countless billions sunk into squishing teenagers in court. Still not one fair and simple sharing or discovery model. This industry and especially the *AA orgs are evil money presses and should be abolished.

I don't see thousands of his comments posted here for outrage every day but that has been his job for decades. People step in when he said something mean and point fingers "see that's how he always is". It's kind of a symptom of our time tbh.
