Glad to hear I'm not alone, the latest releases of JetBrains have been so bad I finally cancelled my subscription. VSCode has been a nice surprise, "its giving old emacs" as the kids would say.
Some people might say that it’s cool to open to open up a home appliance and expose yourself to high voltage AC components, but at the end of the day, it’s also pretty fun.
Ok you got me.
Was really hoping this would be a new major mode for Emacs.
Very well said.
Thanksgiving is at the end of the month though
What is 'sl' ?
What brand are you taking can I ask?
Water like from the toilet?
Are you taking any NAD+ supplements? I am as of a week ago, just curious if anyone else is.
This also lines up with something said in the book Lifespan about fasting reducing inflammation.
How long did it take for you to get a job? I'm currently looking again after a long sabbatical.
I think they are talking about the word embeddings, where context is embedded into high geometric dimensions (one dimension might capture how 'feminine' a word is, or how 'blue' it is).
Most of the market gains occur overnight, not during trading hours.
Forum / social / chat posts fade quickly into oblivion
Where should I write posts at? All good advice thank you.
Yes I think you are right, it was funny to me but I see your point.
I haven't yet posted to Show I'll do that after I make those changes, thanks!
the researchers observed, for the first time, that it forms discrete energy bands called Landau levels
Isn't this huge news? Discrete energy levels for photons?
That's Lorentzian geometry and Minkowski space from the 1900's and created for Relativity.
This is Euclidian geometry, much older and more 'accepted'.
Yeah this book takes me back too. It is very approachable and yeah even fun.
Same here, I've been slogging through with raw sympy this tool looks great.
How do I speed up the start time for it - any ideas? Recompile it with PyPy or similar?
Are these magic rocks for sale?
What are you going to do with the steam boiler ?
Thank you both - I'm feeling the same, and I had tied up so much of my personality and life with software development, I feel pretty lost now. I've had a side project to work on for as long as I can remember, now I'm just not interested in building at all. And honestly, I don't know where to go from here.
It does feel that way. Also feels unjust that the first to be replaced by AI is us (software engineers), that may be playing into it?
We had it good for so long. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for all the bugs.
It's so fast ... and accurate.
All of the small wind turbines I have seen have been mounted on a tower, which creates its own set of headaches.
But yes the tower is a must usually.
What were y'all working on back then?
I am just imagining this, or did it feel like 10-15 years ago breaking changes were a big deal, and companies went out of their way to provide an upgrade path. Now my flutter app from 3 months ago won't even compile.
Just started using it, it's amazing.
My advice is aimed at previous me, so take it with a grain of salt.
I was not lost in my 20's. I am now lost in my 40's though, and I'm not looking to get back on the path.
Travel if you can. Find a job that takes you somewhere you wouldn't normally go. Life is about experiences, be open to them and get out of your bubble as much as you can stand.
Don't take it too seriously. Laugh and enjoy life as much as possible. Fake the enjoyment till it becomes real if you have to.
Stay lost, see where you end up.
