I just came back from 2 months in Colombia with my wife and a 3 year old. You can definitely live off 1k USD in an intermediate city (not Bogota) with a very high living standards compared to the average colombian.

Medellin would be my recommendation, very safe, unbeatable weather, access to high speed internet, a trendy startup culture and decent level of English-speaking people, non-stop daily flights to major US cities and same time zone as the US.

Honest question, how is lobbying different from bribery? Lobbyists go to Washington, spend fortunes on taking lawmakers to fancy dinners and then get away with what they want. Maybe I don't understand the process and am oversimplifying it, but that's how I see it.

For me the most important aspect of this acquisition is that Automattic is a fully remote company. Tumblr's office space in New York City must be very expensive, I wonder if they're getting rid of it and transition everyone to remote.

Mine is not available either and I doubt someone paid $11,500 for an Italian name with the dev extension. How come? My guess is some providers are "reserving" them.

This is my most disliked feature as well and it causes the opposite, inconvenient effect for me: I add to my playlist a movie or show that I want to watch in the future, days later, I go back to my list and it takes me an unnecessary extra amount of cognitive effort to find the same item because it had a different thumbnail back when I first added it. So irritating.

Where can I find the full list of products being released during AWS re:Invent? I haven't been able to find it, if there is such thing.

My thoughts exactly as how much confusion this causes. It has happened to me several times that I'm scanning the catalog for a movie that my graphic memory had previously located, just to end up frustrated at first for not being able to find it and angry after realizing Netflix simply decides to A/B test the artwork.

This is like having a vinyl music collection made up of hundreds of items where the covers change randomly. Please Netflix, stop doing this.

This is very similar to what RoboKiller[1] does but with a lot more friction and less features.

My guess is that all affected accounts are those that had multiple successful and/or unsuccessful login attempts coming from the same source.

We have already incorporated and has been a long and painfull process, but not as painfull as trying to open an account at Silicon Valley Bank. After some back and forth, they rejected our application saying:

It could be done at the airport level. If your last known departure was from point A, how did you get here with an aircraft that is not suited to fly such long distance. Not only that, you shouldn't have been allowed to depart from point A to begin with.

But again, I thought that something similar already existed. Today I learned, that it doesn't.

I would have thought that there existed some local or international entity regulating private airplanes and their itineraries. I would assume the same way you can't get on the highway with a bicycle or a scooter, these airplanes shouldn't be allowed to fly over the Atlantic.

I had some hours off because of Daylight Saving Time this past weekend in The U.S.

I'm glad to hear that. The route from my house to the train station has a couple of gentle hills and my weight is 155 pounds. Should I be concerned that it won't have enough power to climb those hills?
