I did the same thing – I had an private cabin in a co-working space for some time and then moved out to a larger apartment with a dedicated office room. It's been working pretty well so far, although I have make sure I go out for workout and some tea every day to prevent myself from going insane.

I'm curious why you don't want to use HTML.

I second this. This might be too much for this app but I'd really like to be able to track time manually for a project (like toggl.com) and then be able to see the overview for the project at once as opposed to overall view right now.

Maybe this is an error on Stackoverflow's end, (i.e. serving "Please click the link in the confirmation email to activate your subscription." text to googlebot) and then it went into google index.

Ideally, I'd go to one of the top 4 departments: Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, CMU. Graduates of top universities with decent skills don't have a hard time finding jobs. I'll probably add Columbia and Harvard (middling departments, strong lay prestige) as (irony here) "safety schools". A quant fund isn't going to know the difference between a Harvard CS PhD and one from MIT (or might put Harvard higher).

Anything below the top 20 (and it's top 10 in the rest of STEM and top 1-2 in humanities) has to be purely for the education, though. You're right that a #40 PhD, while the educational program is probably fine, won't fix your career.

Also, the academic job market is terrible and that does not change if you have a PhD from an elite department. That's not what I'm aiming for.

I've seen some of the large websites in India offer OTP (one time password) login using SMS, which I personally have used many times. You enter your mobile no, get an OTP and login with that. Removes the hassle of remembering the password.

But the library isn't as big in India as it is in the US so you might want to keep your VPN subscription after all.

Also that most of the people who buy their way into a government job are most probably incompetent. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy because the ones who themselves bought in their way using corruption are very much likely to repeat the same with others once they are in the government.

This sort of corruption is still running strong here in India. A few days ago an acquaintance of my father told him that he knows a guy who can get her daughter a government job for a fee of 8 lakhs (~$12,000). And that he would go for it, given he had this much money. The sentiment was that he treats this bribe as an investment, which can be recovered from the job salary in a couple years and is worth it.

I'd like to know more about this. When you buy domain validated SSL certificate (that costs $5-10) for which the process is completely automated, does the issuing authority really check or care about which domain it is being used on? Does a human (or a program) check the "suspicious factor" of the domain?

Could you please elaborate on the difficulties you're facing? I'm about to begin a new project in React Native.

Is there also any limit on machine resources that a single request can use? I'm curious about cases in which requests might need non-trivial amount of computational power.

Then I suppose you consider medical advancements to be unnatural and thus bad too as compared to the natural course of letting the diseases just kill you and similarly modern form of communications bad as well over the traditional flapping of mouth flesh.
