It should be mentioned that the paper was originally published in 1998. This version, from 2005, contains an update from the author, Dr. Richard Barbrook. The original paper was itself a remixed extract from The Holy Fools: a critique of the avant-garde in the age of the Net.

Thanks! Anyone is free to use Put Dat without creating an account. Once a dataset is uploaded, it can be downloaded as a file or accessed programmatically (e.g. for web-based visualizations). Each dataset is indexed to allow quick previews of content as well as slicing and dicing. We also enrich the dataset with metadata such as column stats in order to help users get an even better idea of what's inside, which is particularly useful when dealing with millions of rows.
