Richard Hendricks and the rest of the crew finally sell their new internet company — to HBO parent company AT&T, no less

This didn't happen!

They signed a deal with AT&T to build out their network.

Nowhere was this hinted at. The whole fricking idea was that they were yet to become rich and had to decide between riches and potential encryption devastation.

That was the main plot.

MMmmm. Would have thought that was not a defense for him seeing as he then went on to call him a child rapist:

“I suggest that you call people you know in Thailand, find out what’s actually going on and stop defending child rapists, you fucking asshole,” Musk wrote in the first message. “He’s an old, single white guy from England who’s been traveling to or living in Thailand for 30 to 40 years, mostly Pattaya Beach, until moving to Chiang Rai for a child bride who was about 12 years old at the time.”

No to Chrome 7 years ago

not op - 1 click clear storage/site data button.

Do any of the firefox devs use chrome dev tools to see what's missing in FF/nice to have?

As feelgood a quote as that may seem, this line:

Nobody would steal if he could get something of his own some easier way. Nobody will commit burglary when he has a house full.

is complete nonsense when contrasted against modern times. All the thieves in jail are not there because they stole to feed their family or some other noble deed.

I have seen multiple tech teams at different companies evolve separately towards using similar patterns in both Java and C#

Could you give us some background on your professional experience? There is no "About" section on the site.

I actually do want to "criminalize homelessness". It should not be an allowable choice

How about people who are an utter nuisance on their neighbours? Do we just say tough luck to the neighbours?

Have you ever experienced that?

People who have zero respect for their neighbours and just do whatever they want at whatever time they want?

How many noise complaints will the neighbours be forced to tolerate because I have zero doubt given SF's governance that putting these people in jail will not happen.

Should people just tolerate their lives being disrupted until all avenues of addiction/mental health/other treatment are exhausted?

How have we as a society not outlawed the phony hiring of family members in order to financially enrich them far beyond what they could earn/should earn for the work they do?

I'll save you some future embarrassment and point out that Google complies with all applicable laws in the territories it provides search (including "hate speech laws, anti-piracy laws, right to be forgotten laws").

never mention it in the presence of an Irishman, a Northern-Irishman or anyone else from GB, and especially not botch my reference to any one side

It's really only an issue in written form.

In spoken form, the London part is silent so they're both just pronounced Derry..

Signed,

An Irish person.

Looks like OP is based in Washington D.C.

Guess he was feeling left out when it came to all the lobbying money and croney corruption.

Strange he never addressed the fact that a new non-profit wasn't set up to control the domain.

the OP message falls flat when it can't even be bothered to server render.

also, most offensive is the use of 3rd party js hosting. given the tiny size of the 3rd party libraries (relative to 1st party code), add them in to the code from your own site (which you're already bundling up. SMH)

[from jsdelivr.net]

polyfill.min.js (31.8kb/96.8kb) (wire/resource)

url-polyfill.min.js (1.9kb/6.1kb)

react.production.min.js (4.7kb/12.3kb)

react-dom.production.min.js (36kb/116kb)

[from liaison.dev]

bundle.a7c7d78d57.immutable.js (108kb/375kb)

Firefox Replay 7 years ago

Chrome's dev tools are so far beyond the competitions that this joke is a non-starter.

When Chrome does add this capability(strange they haven't added it to date given the prior art from years ago), I can see it being used by actual devs inside Google and thus being actually useful.

Contrast that with Firefox dev tools which seem to fall behind the priority list compared to new shiny flashy tech projects they concoct.

from the article:

Canonical's write-up of the work done to improve GNOME is also interesting for the long list of what didn't work and how wrong some of the developers' initial assumptions were—especially regarding GNOME's use of JavaScript. It turns out JavaScript had next to no effect on performance. So sorry JavaScript haters, but "assuming that JavaScript is slower than everything else written in C" is evidently a bad assumption

I'm still waiting for mainstream adoption/normalisation of workstation setup config as code.

ansible & friends fell well short.

biggest peeve is vscode allows you to programmatically install extensions yet firefox doesn't.

something something nixos but i'd like that for fedora/ubuntu etc.

I find it bizarre that Apple hasn't cottoned on to the market for 14" laptops yet.

Easily the best tradeoff for me between screensize and carry-ability.

It feels like the people who make Firefox dev tools don't use it to develop.

Prime example every dev has: clear all data from site for fresh start. 1 button in Chrome - Clear site data.

Meanwhile in Firefox, enjoy clicking through, checking & deleting from a minimum of at least 5 sections.
