I had my vm's price increase by around 30% percent as well but they did communicate it and the reason for it being the global ram prices going up. Even then I think hetzner is pretty good, not a lot of good cloud providers keep the port 25 open.
This sounds like a really interesting story, would like to read more on why half life 2 specifically? the game itself was pretty well optimized and ran on really low end hardware even back in the day.

I got to know about this when i was setting up my email server, I have never sent emails to people i don't personally know and yet a few did land in spam and i had to ask them to mark it as not spam, that did help with improving the reputation, i also signed up on google postmaster also outlook as well i think. Have you read Ray Kurzweil's how to create a mind? His definition of our mind is something similar along the lines. Pattern matching/ predictions are all that we do, according to him. I didn't think we'd come so far when I read it a few years ago. Agi seems like a real possibility now and I think I should consider developing some skills besides being able to write php.
Laravel has been great so far for me, I don't think js has any frameworks that are as good. Curious to know how django compares to laravel.

wow, that was some incredible performance, never thought php could be this fast, I was in a dilemma on what language to focus on as an ordinary dev, think I'll stick with php for a while longer.
