I just want to say I'm really sorry for everything you're going through. Life sucks overall right now so I can't imagine adding what you and your family are going through. I assume you and your daughter have a good relationship based on the situation but, if not, I'd try to be as vulnerable with each other as you can manage. It'll really help turn you guys into support structures for each other which is really helpful when things are as rough as they are right now.

Good luck to you and your family.

I think it's ironic because it's on medium and the first thing that comes up is a giant, stupid, unnecessary picture that is full screen and could lead people to believe that there's nothing more to the article.

I'm not surprised at all. Etsy used to be user based and hand made. Now it's just another market place. They still act like they try to enforce "non-mass-produced" but there are countless examples of the opposite being true. Places where people have directly reported instances of this and the problem is still present.

I think the problem is that they stopped caring about their user base and, therefore, became less ubiquitous and people saw that and were like "oh.. time to value them lower.."

This has been solved.

Featherless biped with broad flat nails.

lol

EDIT: For the record, this was said to be Plato's definition of a human after Diogenes (probably my favorite philosopher/practical joker) brought in a plucked chicken and called it a "man" in response to Plato's original definition of humans as "Featherless bipeds"

50 cent supposedly recently had a similar problem. If you try to act rich people will think you are rich.

I am aware that his situation is still confusing as to the actual facts but I am speaking more in an analogy here confirming your sentiment.

Do you have to sign up for Route 53 to get that section? It appears that I have to pay just to be a member. Or maybe I'm just finding the wrong thing.

I got way downvoted for my previous comment. Interesting! lol

That said, I didn't even realize Amazon had a domain registration section. I'm with you that it'll be a total rip off. I'm hoping it's not that absurd because it'd be a really fun one to own!

Yes! Datacapped services are not a viable option. It'd be great to move to cell service as my phone gets faster download speeds than the fastest broadband available locally but I'd be capped at 10gb of data or be paying some outrageous amount for more and that's like 3-4 movies worth of space... ridiculous.

We have a very similar problem with Windstream. Their service sucks and it barely reaches the poor speeds that I'm supposed to get. I'm supposed to get 6mbps down and 768kbps up but I usually get more like 1-3mbps down and 200-400kbps up. I have called to complain more times than I can count and basically get a big old middle finger. Wish a service that didn't suck would come in the area but, aside from satellite or a dedicated line of some sort, windstream is the only one available out here.

Well the idea would be to get an average or something a "baseline" to filter leaning/talking animatedly/etc. Obviously it's probably not how it's done I'm just speculating. Obviously the coin difference would be something but that is something that can be within the margin of error. You give it a ~4lb window or something and all of that's covered. 10 quarters in a pocket is .12lbs.

Besides all of that, we're talking about within a few hours here not day to day. I just mean to give the person that beginners luck then drive them to keep playing. Obviously the accuracy wouldn't be all that vital but it could save the casino a lot of money if they're keeping track of that kind of stuff even if they only have a 50% accuracy.

I've often theorized that casinos could have highly accurate scales in the chairs to keep track of people.

Hypothetically (but I've seen it in action): I don't necessarily sign up for the players club yet, I walk in and walk up to 3 machines and put a dollar in. Lose -> lose -> minor win. Then I say "oooo I'm going to keep playing with this money!" then I end up losing more than I originally had on hand.

I guess it could be as simple as they're watching you but it's got to be fairly easy to automate. "Hmm this guy weighed 215.3lbs when he came in, that's guy id 1528." then just have a small window. I'm sure there are other 215lb people there but it's not that vital... lol Anyone have any insight as to whether or not I'm just insane?

That's insane! Guessing you don't use Photoshop. At least, the last version I used (I think CS5), the font selection was weird and, no matter what, required that you open the drop down. Bleh. Haha

This is similar to stupid crap like Swype and Google's version of it both not inserting curse words when I gesture type them. It's not their business to butt into mine. If I want to gesture type a curse word I should be able to. I understand the issue of possible mistypes being a problem but that's why you turn them off by default and give someone a simple solution to turn them back on.
