I don't think we can fairly compare a phone pretending to be a desktop against other desktops.

It would be more fair to compare a phone that has desktop features, to a phone that doesn't have desktop features.

So let's compare the best Apple phone that refuses to have a dex like experience; to a Samsung that has had a dex experience for about 10 years, or to a Google phone that is now adopting desktop experiences.

If the future is anything like the past, in 5 to 10 years from now we'll see a desktop experience on iPhone and they're going to be snobby about it.

I'm sorry but I remain unconvinced.

Do you have any examples of desktop UI interfaces that are impossible to create in a Dex like experience, that is possible on Linux, Mac, and Windows desktop experiences?

Or is it that mobile apps will never work great/ideally on desktop? And if that's the case, how is that worse than not having them at all?

Maybe there is a scenario I'm not seeing here.

I'm easily in the top 95-99th percentile of people I know and probably most people in general in most respects. Net worth, IQ, height, athletic achievements...

A good 10-20 years ago I anticipated these AI moments, and even some of the specifics like our use of ANNs(when everyone thought they were a failure), and yet I failed to capitalize on it.

It's hard to describe just how defeated and irrelevant these news articles make me feel.

For me the interesting thing is, assuming miny worlds AND simulation theory are both true. Many worlds would seem to be a way to essentially run a/b tests on the simulation. So how would you separate out/simplify details of your simulation like far away planet stars and galaxies? The speed of light and light cones, don't seem to be enough to make a difference except for on the largest scales.

Sure it would. If you had Sims that went around killing other Sims, there's no way in hell you would promote them, or use their stimulated experiences as a bases for more complex/serious projects.

I'm not deep into LLMs or AI safety right now, but if you have a bad performing AI, you aren't going to use it as a base for future work.

I've followed Many worlds & Simulation theory a bit too far and I ended up back where I started.

I feel like the most likely scenario is we are in a AI (kinder)garden being grown for future purposes.

I think GPs point is if you need more horsepower you might as well get a used small form factor, and if you care about the GPIO and other interfaces you might as well get a PI 3 or 4. I get what you're saying it's a computer it could do all sorts of stuff.

I think the stronger argument/usecase is it's a drop-in replacement for the pi4. So if you're already dedicated to that form factor...

So first we need to answer does math follow physics or does physics follow math?

If math follows physics, and the physics is changing across universes in the multiverse in question, then no you're assertion is wrong.

If physics follows math, then we would have to go up the level higher, and we're not talking about that right now.

It's not crazy. I'm no physicist, but I understand the math of the Big bang is similar to that of a White hole.

What gets a little mind bending for me is the idea that the physics inside the black hole can differ slightly from the ancestor universe. So black holes will preferentially create descendant universes that prefer to create more black holes.

This is a different multiverse theory than the quantum many worlds theory. The limitation of quantum many worlds is that the physics doesn't change. But in the ancestor black hole many worlds theory it does.

When you put these together, you can get an even larger multiverse, where anything that can happen does happen, but only if the laws of physics allow for black holes. That may mean the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is out there somewhere, so long as those laws of physics allow for black holes. Right? Again not a physicist.

A bit of a tangent. I've been trying to manage libvirt& Unraid through terraform, but have run into issue after issue. I'm about given up, and will just manage the virtual machines manually...

In college 2004-2008 I was ridiculed a few times for thinking Neural Networks were interesting. The way I saw it was human intelligence was built on neural network. All we were missing were sufficiently accurate models of neurons or scale.

In middle school I estimated to rival the processing power of a human brain you would need the processing power of an Empire State building full of Pentium 3 processors. It was a pretty rough calculation. I'm having a hard time remembering just how it went.
