Technically, the police are correct! ;-)
unmarried fathers don't get legal custody automatically,
Interesting. Do unmarried fathers have any financial responsibility for the child?
I was wrong, he only earned $197.3 million from the Apprentice.
There was $230 million in "Endorsement and licensing deals that followed the show’s debut"
So it is not like NBC paid him half a billion. It was only 1/5th of a billion.
I am reminded of the joke, "Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?"
I know how the information was gained: someone leaked it! I am surprised it took this long.
Was it an IRS employee who leaked it in violation of federal law? Was it someone at the accounting firm Trump uses? Maybe we will find out some day, maybe not.
To me the most amazing revelation is that he got paid nearly HALF-A-BILLION for the Apprentice! I really think we should start taxing our OTA networks for their use of the public airwaves, if they have that much $$ to throw around.
It feels like that part of the story is the bigger deal.
You think that is the bigger deal? I suppose it is a variant of doxing, but it doesn't look like the NYT is going to post the actual returns, just their interpretation.

I think UL requires two thermal cutoff switches for coffee makers.
Even my $15 el-cheapo coffee maker has two thermal cutoff switches.

Gore Vidal pointed this out many years ago:
"There is only one party in the United States, the Property Party … and it has two right wings: Republican and Democrat. Republicans are a bit stupider, more rigid, more doctrinaire in their laissez-faire capitalism than the Democrats, who are cuter, prettier, a bit more corrupt — until recently … and more willing than the Republicans to make small adjustments when the poor, the black, the anti-imperialists get out of hand. But, essentially, there is no difference between the two parties."Offline shopping works the same way!
The price you pay at Home Depot is influenced by how far away the nearest Lowes is.
And don't get me started on airline fares!
Gates claims now (and then) the Government will stifle innovation,
"Innovation" when used by Gates in this context means "profits."
And I think Bill's dislike for Java was only because it was a threat to the Windows OS monopoly. The appeal of Java, as I recall, was that you could run the same application on multiple platforms.
They use proxies! So many proxies.
BTsync did that to me!
One computer had a hard drive failure, BTSync deleted all the files from the computer that didn't.
Doubleplus ungood.
But non-profits have to pay property tax, right?
I don't think religious institutions have to pay property taxes.
Ok, I looked it up: “states subsidize religions to the tune of about $26.2 billion per year by not requiring religious institutions to pay property taxes for property worth about $600 billion. This subsidy is of particular interest because property taxes pay for services such as firefighting and police, which religious institutions use the same as corporations and private citizens.”
Are we sure this is not a Submarine (PR-placed) article?
"In a normal Costco purchasing example, a company might sell their product for $0.95 and Costco might retail it for $1.00. This would result in a 5% margin (in reality the margin is a bit lower, but let’s use these numbers for estimates)."
That just rings really false to me.
Why would he step in?
The more money Gilead earns, the higher Gilead stock goes. Trump wants the stock market to go higher, so Trump wants to maximize Gilead profits.
Teachers around me (NYC suburbs) are getting $200K compensation packages!
I consider that making out like a bandit. Only 186 days of work a year, summers off, can never be fired.
US entry into WWII was mainly for reasons that had little to do with human rights.
Reasons? There were no reasons, the US entered WWII when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor!
And then Germany declared war on the US.
I made the mistake of purchasing a lot of 100 MAX7219 off eBay
Why was it a mistake? I've used the 'fake' ones. Did not have any problem with them.
Digikey would be charging more then $5, but competition forces them to not charge outlandish shipping rates!
It didn't used to be that way -- mail order suppliers used to charge high fake "Shipping & Handling" fees.
That's why Amazon introduced 'free' shipping.
You have my sympathy! But how do you end up at LGA?
The La Guardia perimeter rule prohibits nonstop flights to or from points beyond 1,500 miles.
All international traffic goes via JFK.
Ah yes. That was a dark day. Well, night actually.
I have a 10" Harbor Freight table saw. Owned it for almost 20 years.
Still works fine. I think it cost $100.
I am an exclusively Harbor Freight shop! :-)
Chicago Electric, Pittsburgh Tools, Drill Master, and of course Central Machinery.
80% of the quality for 20% of the price. And 20% off with the coupon!
Why couldn't the actual design of a PCB be copyrighted,
Don't worry, it is!
Schematics are copyrighted as well.
But someone can take your schematic, lay out their own board, and produce a exact equivalent of your circuit, using all the same components.
What? Any movie with Dom DeLuise in it is a great movie!
Think of it as an ARM prototyping tool.
You would switch to the bare chip for production. [1]
Of course, for low production runs, you could stick the Teensy board in your product.
A question for the Android experts: is it possible to block or spoof location data, through a custom build?
Could I have an Android phone running a program that spoofs a long steady drive from Tampa to Butte?
With roads empty, I guess the temptation to wind 'er up is strong!
The article says "...fatality rates increased even as total crash deaths declined."
That is confusing to parse. I guess that there are fewer crashes, but a higher percentage are fatal, but even with a higher percentage of crashes being fatal, overall crash deaths declined.
Wait 'til the music starts and there's a scramble for seats.
You meant 'stops'.
