Current smartphones are highly optimized for content consumption a.k.a doom scrolling. Nothing serious exists for programming. On top of that, a touch keyboard and hard to reach special characters make programming on a modern smartphone a big chore. I miss the old days of smartphones that had a hardware keyboard with tactile feedback. I used to code up and maintain a PHP based dynamic website circa 2007 with a Sony Ericsson K770i and upload through a J2ME based FTP client that also had the text editor in it. If I remember it correctly it was called MobyExplorer

This comment has so many factual inaccuracies. 1. Vote share for BJP in urban areas have been consistent with rural areas in the most recent national election of 2019. There are multiple celebrity status people (including journalists, students, politicians) and common people openly complaining against government on Twitter and in public forums and they are all free and continue to do so without the fear of being arrested. Examples: Ravish Kumar, Barkha Dutt, Shehla Rashid, Shashi Tharoor, Arfa Khanum Sherwani, Kanhaiya Kumar and countless more. 3. Ruling party has a very strong competition at state level. In India, police report to states (except Delhi) so in general, states have much more power to control law and order than central govt. "Algorithms to Live By: The Computer Science of Human Decisions" by Brian Christian and Tom Griffiths is an interesting listen on Audible. Surprised that nobody has mentioned it here yet. It is a perfect candidate for an audiobook because of lack of code snippets and formulae.

You need to setup ublock origin on every browser on every device. With pihole, all your devices automatically get adblocking, even your friends coming home and connecting to your wifi get the ad blocking advantage without anything to do on their part.

I can confirm that. My Nexus 5X died with bootloop after the warranty was over and all the googling led me to make peace with the fact that it was a soldering issue, hence a manufacturing defect.

Do you plan to run something more serious than github, basecamp or shopify? Usually it is not rails, which is the bottleneck, but the architecture of your application.

Jio has INR349($5 USD) plan which gives 84 days of unlimited calling with 1.5GB data per data. For 399, less than $USD8 you get 2GB per day. Airtel also has a similar plan. This is fueling the data revolution

In all tier 1 cities, which are at least 10, you can get 100Mbps broadband with about 750GB to 1TB data for close to 20 dollars a month. In villages (at least 100 thousands of them) and small towns (roughly 8 thousand of them) where most population resides, the story is different. Only wired broadband provider for them is govt. owned named BSNL whose service is quite unreliable. 4G high speed wireless is accessible everywhere for cheap though.

IMO Windows is even more difficult when you want to get into underneath of things. Fiddle with registry settings, services and at times deleting AppData\App folder to get something fixed. At least in case of Linux you get good set of answers to your Google queries, but that is not as good in case of Windows. Also, Windows and the ecosystem of software around it has a huge reliability and performance problem still unsolved. Freezing, crashing are still rampant with Windows 10. If I boot my laptop after a week Windows Update holds me up for at least half an hour. Every update restarts the OS several times.

I don't understand how this info can be used for getting what was inside the book? If my understanding of your explanation is correct, book name is analogous to memory address. When the victim (legit process) returned the book with name X (called free on the mem block X), the librarian (OS) erased all pages of the book and repurposed it for printing another book before handing it out to the evil dude(snoopy process).
