Any e-learning platform would be capable of this. Using something like Adapt to author it and Moodle to host it you could easily create documents without messy code and still input and manipulate varibles. I think Adapt may even be able to output HTML5 courses, so you may not even need Moodle. It's been a while.

In my opinion seasoning meat is just short term curing, i.e. I do recommend flakey salt for that. It's useful less for being able to see the seasoning but the larger grains draw out more moisture/season deeper.

Maybe, just maybe, in the last 10-20 years when this trend for flakey salt has taken off. Any recipe you see older than 10 years I would safely bet that they meant table salt, and I would still recommend using table salt unless otherwise specified on anything more recent, that goes triple for any baking recipes. Again, unless for finishing.

Of course if the recipe specifies weight rather than volume, the point is moot.

And speaking as a former fine dining line cook, any food writer specifying kosher for anything other than fininshing/curing is a dolt IMO :)

The info about salt is plain wrong. Kosher salt is used for curing meat and as a mainly decorative addition to baking, you don't need to use it for cooking, it doesn't dissolve noticably slower in liquids. In fact when most recipes specify a volumetric measurement of salt they mean table salt and if you were to use kosher or sea salt you would be under seasoning due the reduced volume, nothing to do with how quickly it dissolves.

You should definitely not be using large grain salt in baking for this reason, unless it is to decorate a finished product.

Iodine deficiencies were and are very, very real. They're also on the rise due to food deserts and rising poverty. Iodised salt largely eliminated iodine deficiencies so people with poor knowledge of the history think they just went away. Most processed food does not contained iodised salt, so table salt is an essential source or iodine for a great many people around the world.

Idosing salt was and is one of the greatest public health success stories of the 20th century, do not talk about it like some conspiracy by government.

The skills you pick up from even attempting these things are probably the biggest reason for doing it. And bragging rights maybe?

It is a lot more neutral these days, you're not wrong but context is an important part of it.

I'm not a radical feminist or anything, I just think in tech it's quite important to be inclusionary at every given opportunity and every level. The male-only culture we've fostered in the tech industry is becoming poisonous. And nowadays it only takes one person outside of your laser-focused demographic to write the right [insert social media format] that gets your book seen. Especially if you don't have the budget/time/inclination to re-write copy.

I agree there should be a minimum social infrastructure but shouldn't there also be more? In a near future where automation has made most jobs obsolete people shouldn't have any form of luxury at all? No capital to speculate? No hobbies? Seems like a very dull future.

As I'm in the process of learning java: 1. A cli podcatcher daemon for linux 2. An infinite runner game for mobile 3. A recipe app for mobile

Possibly not in that order. None of these will set the world on fire, but I think they'll be good practice.

As a piece of constructive criticism (as it seems like maybe English isn't your first language) using gendered words like "guys" can seem a little bit sexist or at least exclusionary. You don't want to put women off reading your book just with the blurb :)

Coding isn't that type of job. Very few people can concentrate on coding problems uninterrupted from 9am until 5pm and it's usually very unproductive to try. Any boss that expects that is unrealistic. Most of the time when I'm up against a difficult problem the time I get most breakthroughs is on lunch or a loo break. Sometimes you need to lose focus to gain inspiration. Coding isn't just about numbers, it's creative problem solving.

We're also an industry of constant learning. Although I can't really say HN is a learning material I'd be willing to try to justify to my boss, staying connected and up to date on the latest happenings has gotten me out of several jams in work.

Sertraline was the worst

I had a very similar experience. Tried a couple of SSRIs prior to sertraline and had a manic episode shortly after starting it. I was up for about 3 days and drinking furiously. Felt like I was on coke. Immediately stopped once I realised what was happening but it was so gradual and I was manic so it had to be pointed out to me that I was flying.

This is a study with a lot of weaknesses. So many I'd go ahead and add a big old " - maybe" on the end of your headline. Otherwise, this is just the same type of sensationalist headline the tabloids love regurgitating. A better title is "Another study shows possible correlation between saturated fats and heart disease"

There are plenty of people criticising the phasing out of the jack port. I'm certainly one of them. It's obsolescence for its own sake.

It's fairly pointless hashing it out in forums though, I'll just continue to vote with my wallet.

Yeah, that sucks. You seem to be in a really bad place mentally though, which is going to massively amplify any feelings of rejection, so bear that in mind when you're beating yourself up. You could just be down. I found that getting help, reaching out and realising I had a problem was the biggest step in getting better. I still get depressed from time to time but I can see the signs now so it doesn't ruin my life anymore.

As for the interview, so what? Keep trying. It took multiple interviews for me to find the right fit. Not getting the job doesn't mean you are shit or worthless. Those puzzles are of questionable validity anyway, maybe the interviewer was a bit crap.

Either way, rejection is part of life, you need to pick yourself up and keep trying until you find the place you need to be. That's going to be near impossible if you're depressed though, and it sounds like you are so look for some help.

Good luck

create gravity on the outer surface

That's a tricky one. Do you mean make the ring thick enough that it has enough mass to have its own gravity?
