I'd also suggest Berlin, but aren't they in berlin already? If so, I'd be interested to know why are they looking for yet another country? Sure, you need to know some German to get around, but otherwise berlin has a pretty good climate for startups (and the cost of living is not as high as in Switzerland or Iceland).

I used to have a problem with readjusting window sizes and positions between the laptop and my 24" display until I discovered full-screen apps in the recent OS X. Now I just run the text editor full-scren on both

Anyone into contemporary classics? I really enjoy piano and cello music while coding, like Ludovico Einaudi, Brian Crain, Julia Kent, Zoe keating etc.

Yes, sorry, they are. They are not serving web ads though, nor we have a reliable account that they collect information from user's iCloud emails to enhance the relevancy of iAd ads.

Sorry, I was inaccurate, they do serve ads, but not web ads, and so far I don't have any reliable information stating that Apple scarps the contents of user's personal data to deliver more relevant ads in a way google does.

Apple's iCloud. It's free (up to 5GBs), no ads, and Apple is not in the ads business, hence, they have no use of your personal data (as opposed to Google). I have no idea how good are they in actually protecting your personal data, but I don't recall significant breaches of mobile.me/icloud in the past year.

With new PostgreSQL major releases (latest one is 9.0 w/ embedded replication) its getting better and better. The community rocks and there are exciting new features coming to 9.1 (i.e. synchronous replication).

Full disclosure: My daily job is postgres developer/consultant and I love it :)

$3K is way above average in Moscow, and Moscow salaries are much bigger than anywhere else in Russia. To give a comparison, a salary of $1K per month is considered above average in most of the Russian cities, except for 2-4 largest ones.

I think we should also measure an average number of deaths caused by a single incident and the average number of deaths among strangers caused by a single incident. The incidents at nuclear plants are rare, but the consequences can be much more dangerous than from the other energy sources.

I actually wonder what would happen to a google account without a public profile linked to a gmail address. IIRC deleting such account is impossible without deleting a corresponding gmail account. Loosing all your emails one day just because you are not into google buzz and other fancy social stuff would be horrible.
