If someone wanted to use this for "opposition research" purposes, they could run this against any "up and coming" public figures...

* Regional politicians

* TV show contestants

* High school / college athletes

* White collar workers receiving major promotions

* etc.

Take screenshots / records of the tweet, then figure out what to do next. Could range from storing for a rainy day or building a SaaS that reaches out to those folks and helps them find/delete the old content.

We use Trello with a slack integration on certain boards.

This is really smart. I feel like it further establishes SeatGeek as the inarguably best destination to buy tickets: peer-to-peer at lowest fees in the industry, combined with the best prices on the web.

If you consider a marketplace to be (demand side) : (supply side), they already have a backstop in the supply side through price-comparison, and can now differentiate their service from other companies with a solid user-uploaded set of tickets.

I love this, simply genius. I think it'll make sense to focus on a few select tasks and scale those with great partners, instead of spreading too wide at first.

The pricing doesn't make all that much sense to me. Why not a simple per-request pricing model with a monthly minimum (after a # of free trials)? Or the ability to simply purchase larger blocks for discount pricing?

I see people zipping through NYC on these. Usually on dedicated running/biking paths (E River, West Side Highway), but occasionally on city streets and sidewalks, as well.

I'm always concerned I'll see them hit an unexpected pothole or raised lip at speed and absolutely bite it into traffic.

Another great initiative from YC, which I'm sure will yield incredible access to talented entrepreneurs. Surely there will be signal-to-noise issues, but if any group is equipped to sift through for (and help develop) talent, it's YC.

$12k is not a lot of money in the grand scheme, but it is a huge grant to many talented founders/teams who otherwise wouldn't be able to take this leap.

I think that that in addition to the price-setting / risk-spreading nature of the "monopoly," they're also trying to control new "experiences" as it relates to dating. OKCupid / Match offer a fundamentally different experience to Tinder or HowAboutWe.

IAC seems to be making a macro-bet: we don't know what online dating will look like in 5-10 years, but we want to control it.

Interestingly, they "incubated" Tinder via Hatch Labs (where I was an employee). Pretty impressive control of that vertical.

This is what many/most have overlooked. Victoria was the straw that broke the camel's back. Her firing was indicative of the lack of appreciation / recognition given to the moderator's, and was just another example of the disconnect and (perceived) exploitation of moderator time/effort without the proper support and tools.

This was an unexpectedly fascinating read. This blew my mind:

Rats are responsible for about half of all bird and reptile extinctions on islands, according to Gregg Howald of the group Island Conservation.

I live in the LES of NYC, and will routinely see 50+ rats in a 10 block span. They have massive burrows through a local park, with ample opportunity to live and breed, and a constant supply of trash and food (sometimes left "for the birds.")

One small benefit is that they prove a consistent supply of food for the local park's hawks, which can regularly be seen feasting on them.
