This will pave the way for iMessage to become a separately paid service, at least for users who aren’t hardware customers for apple. Currently, iMessage is ‘free’ to hardware holders. Was Bells services free if you bought their phone?

The rr command is already somewhat well-known as a debugger from the rr-project[0]. Rerun is definitely inspiring, and good tools do that. Brett Victor is a great inspiration, I’m glad I saw that his work inspired rerun, that’s cool.

Steam play streaming from every screen I own has been really nice though. That’s what my gaming rig does, it’s not even got a primary display attached unless my remote access isn’t cutting it.

I haven’t set up moonlight or anything else except shadow, ps plus (nee now) and GeForce now, and ps remote. I have chiaki set up but sees little use except from my gpd handhelds

My steam deck almost arrived before the delivery person marked it to return for damage inspection. It’s still there, but I’m almost certain I’ll never receive it. Steam support has been silent and not responded since Friday.

Panic is pretty much exactly a “Native MacOS” company. It’s in their blood, it’s in their history.

Some ISPs, when pressed for refunds from downtime or poor service, ask if you have any reports. SNMP and connection monitoring has been the mainstay in my local network that’s provided those reports with an always-on server that captures my router traffic info. Specifically, I use PeakHour for MacOS.

With the reports I provide, they give me refunds. Death before dishonor.

Reviewing the comments you’ve made from this account, one might arrive at the assumption that you’re both argumentative and unpleasant to do anything but agree with. You also don’t appear entirely able to accept ‘no’ without challenging it.

I also wonder about the futility of the statement that someone could cause millions of dollars of damages when those companies elected to depend and build upon truly free software.

Free lunches don’t exist for anyone.

In this era of privacy, why would I list such important information with you? I see your track record, but I'm fairly certain this data you store (however encrypted) and ask users to enter or connect to your systems sits somewhere closer to medical PII in value than a massive trove of mail from a smaller operator in the space.

This seems like you're building an extremely high value target on the back of successes of handling data of a lower value tier no matter how wonderful everything is, and success only grows the bounty. I don't need to hear that it won't happen, I need to see how I'm already protected should the worst come to pass. If all you can offer is best practices and no disaster plan that makes me better off than whole, I can only give you my best wishes for your future instead of a $10/month place at my table.

Imagine you have nothing and must depend on services and resources of others to get along. You start with nothing, how are you going to make the journey? You get there, you have not created the relationships that keep you fed daily.

I don't know if you've never faced homelessness, but it gets worse the longer you're homeless in many ways. There are no creative solutions from outsiders that wouldn't occur to the homeless, just resources the haves will not share with the have-nots. Homeless people don't need ideas, they need free money, liberty, and agency. All of which aren't offered at the tip of the tongue, but with the offering of funding.

No one asked you to broadcast our progress on your platform or participation in it. I made sure to not only make my account not look it's mine, I used every control to lower its impact on my footprint and pushed my peers to.

From today onward Triplebyte has established its place in the lexicon as a ghetto self-serving linkedin wannabe. Good job.

The company needs to account for which state(s) my income taxes are to be paid towards if I'm w2'ing their situation, as a citizen of the United States, I give as little information as possible because then I'm not able to be 'wrong' or somehow incorrect.

This leaves me with exactly two addresses for location, one for shipping things and one for "The state in which you reside". Residence is a legal thing, you can travel and be nomadic while maintaining your resident status within one or more particular states.

I've been working remotely for 10+ years like the parent comment, and it would make a very interesting impact on my tax history if what you both are saying holds any water.

If facebook employees can't figure out some way to... I don't know, "Connect with friends, family and other people you know. Share photos and videos, send messages and get updates" they'd be able to organize and solve their problems.

There's an incredible power in "No", but most of us aren't French and know very little about how to handle kings.

I had just stumbled on https://gitpod.io/ which comes with an extension to add a button next to the clone/download button-down (portmanteau of button and dropdown).

I also use codeanywhere for my personal use and whenever applicable I like to use codesandbox.io when it's JS-ish.
