This will pave the way for iMessage to become a separately paid service, at least for users who aren’t hardware customers for apple. Currently, iMessage is ‘free’ to hardware holders. Was Bells services free if you bought their phone?

The rr command is already somewhat well-known as a debugger from the rr-project[0]. Rerun is definitely inspiring, and good tools do that. Brett Victor is a great inspiration, I’m glad I saw that his work inspired rerun, that’s cool.

SNMP and connection monitoring has been the mainstay in my local network that’s provided those reports with an always-on server that captures my router traffic info. Specifically, I use PeakHour for MacOS.
With the reports I provide, they give me refunds. Death before dishonor.

This reminds me of the speedrunning community ‘any percent’ ladders and how anything goes to get to the finish. Such a grind, but very specific applicable knowledge, and no meaningful generalizable growth at the end to bring to another game.
I also wonder about the futility of the statement that someone could cause millions of dollars of damages when those companies elected to depend and build upon truly free software.

It's perfectly normal for English-speakers to adopt the speech patterns and phrases of those they're around. There's nothing to learn by attempting to refute their origin.
In this era of privacy, why would I list such important information with you? I see your track record, but I'm fairly certain this data you store (however encrypted) and ask users to enter or connect to your systems sits somewhere closer to medical PII in value than a massive trove of mail from a smaller operator in the space.
This seems like you're building an extremely high value target on the back of successes of handling data of a lower value tier no matter how wonderful everything is, and success only grows the bounty. I don't need to hear that it won't happen, I need to see how I'm already protected should the worst come to pass. If all you can offer is best practices and no disaster plan that makes me better off than whole, I can only give you my best wishes for your future instead of a $10/month place at my table.
Imagine you have nothing and must depend on services and resources of others to get along. You start with nothing, how are you going to make the journey? You get there, you have not created the relationships that keep you fed daily.
I don't know if you've never faced homelessness, but it gets worse the longer you're homeless in many ways.
