Carbs are also great. My xr650r can sit in a shed for 300 years and if it was clean when stored will start up in 2 kicks or at worst in 15min after opening the bowl with one screwdriver and cleaning the jets.

There is no fuel pump to break (or weight the bike down), I could run the carb with a soda bottle if I had to. There are no complex computers to break and brick the bike.

Beyond the reliability, the real value of the carbs is the FEEL. This bike is analog, the rumbling sounds, the brilliant popping and gurgle on deceleration. Its a motorcycle, mechanical gear changes, cable operated throttle, controlled explosions.

There is no right to privacy, you either have it, or you don't. You either stay inside or go out, dress or stay nude, play with data collecting company products or dont. You may build a whole elaborate burocrazy to keep your "rights" intact, but they will corrupt and be captured by financial interest as it always does over a large enough timeline and all you will have is the illusion of privacy accompanied by the incompetence of the machination proping it up, at large expense.

If you want privacy, seek it out, refuse those that take it from you. Incuding Meta.

Those benefiting from traditional banking, ie the 1% of the world in the US and EU, are largely completely naive to the tragic despair of the other 99%, either completely unbanked, oppressed via predatory inflation policy and capital controls or just simply rigged against them.

Crypto was created from the ruins of bailouts where the poor masses where put on the hook for the crisis created by central banks ad wall st. That hasnt changed. Innovation and critical mass usage will arise from the bottom up, Nigeria, Venezuela, Argentina, El Salvador. Nations like the US and EU will be the last to embrace it, at their peril, when they have no real other choice to not be left behind.

There are many factors. First is trust, I trust an organism even if pumped full of hormones more than a lab cell culture. Then there is the issue of dependency, raising livestock nad hunting is low tech with no supply chains breaking down. Quality is also a factor, i will believe it when I see it that lab grown meat is nothing more than glorified ground meat. There is a lot to the unique properties of meat (fibers, fat, etc) which will likely take a long while to master, this vs thousands of years of tradition meat preparation and husbandry.

I am not for any top down laws banning things, but the idea that lab grown is anywhere an equal swap for real meat is silly. Italy has a genuine concern, they value food, and that comes down to the quality of ingredients.

Top down economics like banning a whole industry never work. Solutions need to arise bottom up, its an emergent complex system requiering emergent solutions via voluntary desicions of all partys involved (end users,builders, etc). Let the market do its thing. I a generally against subcidies, but they would be a better carrot on a stick than an outright ban.

Its not a bitcoin vs other coins. These are layers of tech. This website is running html, javascript and all the other server side and browser side protocols. They stack. Bitcoin is a single purpose blockchain and its essentially the html out of which other crypto tech layers extra features without compromising its value (security, consistency, etc). The idea that a single blockchain needs to solve all use cases is silly. We just need layer 2, 3, etc. The biggest hurdle to this tech evolving is not btc or there being better options that do the same, its regulatory which is severely hamstringing transactions because of capital gain reporting etc.

Central, top down control of the economy by political entities is a recepy for graft and disaster. Its a complex emergent system, you pull one string and changes propagate far and deep in unpredictable ways.
