Vibrant (https://www.vibrantpractice.com) | Founding Engineer | Full-Time | SF (hybrid) or Remote with frequent travel to SF

We're building Cursor for doctors. At Vibrant, we've picked the expensive, high-touch, data-heavy subspecialties of functional, integrative, and longevity medicine, and we've created AI agents that reduce hours of clinical work to minutes.

We're a world-class team of health tech founders, AI builders, and clinicians from Meta, Stride Health, Peloton, and Hinge Health. In just five months, we've built notetaking/scribing, Clinical Decision Support, and some of the integrations a clinician needs to run their practice with Vibrant as their AI Operating System.

In the words of doctors using our product already in production: "I have goosebumps, this is really incredible. Very accurate." "Seeing the patient overview AI-generated summary come to life after placing a couple notes is AMAZING. I'm losing it over here."

Our stack: Typescript, React, NextJS, React Native, Expo, AI SDK, custom AI agents, RAG, tools, and agentic workflows.

It's still early days for us, and we're looking for folks who ship fast and are curious and resourceful. If that's you, shoot me an email at pedro [at] vibrantpractice.com or just book an intro with me: https://book.vimcal.com/p/pedro/quick-chat

Stride | Engineering Manager, Platform Backend | REMOTE (US and Latam)

At Stride we're working on a benefits suite for what we believe is an underserved community – freelance and gig economy workers. We want to create economic security for anyone who works for themselves. We offer an easy way for 1099 workers to apply for health/dental/vision coverage. We're also expanding to other spaces like tax and financial management, so as to make it financially accessible for anybody who juggles multiple gigs, or is just pursuing a dream on their own.

As a business, we sit on a unique position and have partnerships with a ton of giant companies (think Doordash, Postmates, Instacart, and many more) who want to better serve their workforce. It's rare that a startup has a good mission and a good business, but here we are. We're currently in hyper-growth mode, and have expanded our Engineering team from 12 to 30 people in the last several months. This year we're planning for our revenue to multiply significantly. We are backed with plenty of capital ($90M) by world-class VCs like NEA, Venrock, F-Prime, and others.

On the engineering side we use React, Node, Typescript, Serverless, Terraform, GraphQL, Postgres, AWS DynamoDB/ECS/SQS/Lambda/others, Python, and some cool machine learning models you're going to love hearing about. Your work will be mostly greenfield, and you'll get to have a leading voice on the future of our platform's architecture and infrastructure.

Originally headquartered in San Francisco, we now are a remote-first company and nurture remote workers from all over the United States and Latin America. We offer fantastic benefits (after all, it's our product!) and you'll be surrounded by the most driven, smartest people I know. We have a supportive, productive culture that's respectful of your own personal time and well-being.

We are looking for an experienced software engineer with experience and passion for DevOps, infrastructure and backend application development. You will build backend applications that drive the operation of our marketplace products. Additionally, you will drive operational excellence by implementing and supporting DevOps practices like proactive monitoring, CICD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.

We predominantly work with Python, NodeJS, Postgres, Redis, and Terraform. Our systems are built on AWS so experience building cloud-ready services is a plus. A good grasp of software craftsmanship and a passion for learning are a must. We are a small, nimble organization where you will have plenty of opportunities to make a big impact!

Our headquarters are in San Francisco and we are building a team based in Salt Lake City. While we are fully remote right now, we will be supporting a flexible work structure going forward with an office location in Salt Lake City. We offer fantastic benefits (after all, it's our product!) and you'll be surrounded by the most driven, smartest people I know. We have a supportive, productive culture that's respectful of your own personal time and well-being.

Stride | Android Engineer (all levels) | San Francisco, CA

At Stride we're working on a benefits suite for what we believe is an underserved community – freelance and gig economy workers. We want to create economic security for anyone who works for themselves. We offer an easy way for 1099 workers to apply for health/dental/vision coverage. We're also expanding to other spaces like tax, so as to make it financially accessible for anybody who juggles multiple gigs, or is just pursuing a dream on their own.

As a business, we sit on a unique position and have partnerships with a ton of giant companies who want to better serve their workforce. It's rare that a startup has a good mission and a good business, but here we are.

On the engineering side, we use Node, Python, Swift, Postgres, Akka and some cool machine learning models you're going to love hearing about. More particularly on Android, we're moving towards Kotlin at a fast pace (40% of our codebase is Kotlin already, all new code is Kotlin) and we use a state-of-the-art MVI architecture that's great to work on. Your work will be feature-heavy, and you'll have tons of say on its architecture and infrastructure.

We have a beautiful office in SOMA (San Francisco) close to South Park. We offer fantastic benefits (after all, it's our product!) and you'll be surrounded by the most driven, smartest people I know. We have a supportive, productive culture that's respectful of your own personal time and well-being.

Are there any libraries out there that implement some/most of these best practices and approaches to NLP? From what I've seen, the existing ones (Stanford NLP, OpenNLP) are getting somewhat dated. Many non-PhD people (including me) would find such a library incredibly useful.

That is exactly what caught my attention, barring the pseudo-dystopian theme. I'd say that a different arrangement (e.g. a short TL;DR followed by a Learn More, and finally by the full whitepaper) would seem more "natural". That slider you can modify at will depending on your current attention span seems strangely creepy for reasons beyond my current human psychology understanding.

I think (hope) they are taking "Google" as a concept for marketing/impact purposes, not as Google per se. That said, if there's a company that'd dare to implement this, it'd be Google.

One of the advantages of Spanish over English is that the problem that singular 'they' is trying to solve doesn't even exist. Gotta love that always-on gender alignment feature :)

This one got me thinking — what would be the optimal way to face a flight boarding line? If there are no incentives (i.e. seats are already assigned), then you're paying with time for no reward. Many people are using a highly suboptimal approach by waiting in line even before the boarding has been announced. I'm glad I just sit with my computer until there is no one in line :)

HERE engineer here (yes, I also sometimes hate the noticeable amount of redundancy of our corporate brand). One important point that analysts haven't stressed enough while evaluating potential buyers, is the role our top customers play in all this dance.

By top customers I'm referring to car manufacturers in particular. They are the ones who are paying/will pay top dollar for our connected car offerings. A sale to a single car manufacturer would make the rest go away. A sale to Google, for example, would completely destroy our trust – these guys hate Google. A sale to Uber... Same thing.

Facebook, maybe? They've been known for respecting independence of acquired companies to a high degree. That could be one of our best shots IMO.
