A few months ago I was working on migrating cloud build for a personal project and hit a documentation error. Submitted a correction via the feedback button and it got fixed few days later. To be honest I was a little surprised by how fast it got fixed.

totally agree with you.

Regardless where you are, removable battery is a huge fire hazard. News about devastating fires caused by e-bikes batteries shows up from time to time. In China, It's common to see posters advocating for the storage of e-bikes outside building.

So don't store it in your home.

Also a long time keepass user.

The db file on my Mac is shared with iCloud and is acted as the master file. All updates happen on the mac and the rest of the clients just sync and do read only. It has been working well.

All my website passwords are saved in firefox account so I rarely need to update the db file.

Software I use the daily

Apptivate - set global keyboard shortcut for Mac. Firefox - been using it for 20 years and still loving it. Vimium - vim binding for Firefox. Make web browsing more productive.

the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse and Addiction just released a new report[1] on Low-Risk Alcohol Drinking Guidelines.

Among healthy individuals, there is a continuum of risk for alcohol-related harms whereby the risk is: • Negligible to low for individuals who consume two standard drinks or less per week; • Moderate for those who consume between three and six standard drinks per week; and • Increasingly high for those who consume more than six standard drinks per week.

standard drink is the equivalent of a bottle of beer (12 oz., 341 ml, 5% alcohol) read more on the old report [2]

I know I will watch my beer intake more closely now.

At least the company was being honest.

I have heard some companies hide the truth of relocating to another city and announce it right before the move. As employee, you either move with the company or find a new job.

It's probably better to build a team in the new location then announce the move in advance. It will be a shock either way.

Helped me get started with API design in my early career. Learning from other existing APIs helps too. such as stripe, github, shopify. Any others?

Something that We do at my current job:

* set a standard and stick with it. tweak it if needed. we even have naming standard on some of the json key. for example, use XXX_count for counting. when it doesn't make sense, use total_XXX.

* Document your API, we use postman and code review API changes too.

Auto-Update doesn't work anymore. It's the first thing I tried when encounter this issue like 20 minutes ago.

Can't access any website or making any connection without disable `network.http.http3.enabled` and restart.

This impact is huge for million of firefox users!

It is rather the opposite based on mirantis latest blog post on Swarm https://www.mirantis.com/blog/docker-swarm-webinar-qa-long-l...

It all stems from when Mirantis first acquired the Docker Enterprise business two years ago, they put out a blog saying, “We’re gonna support Swarm for at least two more years and we’re gonna take that time to kind of see what the need is, what the market dictates…”

Unfortunately, some third parties took that and said, “Oh, they’re only going to support it for two years and then they’re going to sunset it.” That’s not true at all. This is important to us and to our future direction. We continue to invest in it and we have lots of large enterprise customers using Swarm in production at scale.

Building a side project using python scrapy to scrape podcast shows. I use it to search by title/description etc to find interesting podcasts. Also as a way to learn different tools and frameworks.

Would love to get some feedback on M1 for development.

I am used to work in Linux OS VM(Virtualbox and Vagrant in MacOS) and do most PHP/Python web development. It seems that Virtualbox won't be supported and There is only one Linux VM option available [UTM](https://github.com/utmapp/UTM)

I would hate to invest too much time for a new dev environment just for M1. How's your experience?

JD used to include fapiao in the delivery too. Now It's using E-Fapiao.

If you're shopping at the local corner store or restaurant, they're not declaring sales unless you specifically ask for a fapiao (and even then, half of them will lie and say their machine is broken).

Yeah. I agree. Though it's bit extreme to say `half of them`.

Well it certainly is not a state secret. Just google 'China business tax reform' It was a hot topic back 2, 3 years ago because businesses complained about the high tax rate.

Average Chinese may not think about paying tax for each sale because it's not printed on the receipt. But the price they pay do include all the taxes incurred to the business.

It's been a while, I remember that the receipts I got from IKEA and 711 do print the exact tax applied to this sale.

I can imagine that It's far cheaper to make friend with the police chief by giving him a free meal. Just in case the restaurant need special attention from the chief for situations like local gangs ask for protection money(probably very rare) or fight with drunken eaters. You never know.

It's still norm to bribe local officials so they will go easy on the businesses, such as speedy things up when dealing with the local gov, not enforcing laws when the business wants to pay less taxes.. etc.

I can share how people in China deal with this.

During the high of the coronavirus outbreak, for individual or company, one could call the banks to postpone mortgages, loans or credit card payment for 1 to 3 months. Business may get longer extension if the situation worsen. That was possible in February, less so now as life turns normal gradually since March. Work resumed, shopping mall reopened etc. schools still closed though.

As for rent, Business tenants negotiate with landlord for rent forgiveness, something like half month or one month rent.
