A few months ago I was working on migrating cloud build for a personal project and hit a documentation error. Submitted a correction via the feedback button and it got fixed few days later. To be honest I was a little surprised by how fast it got fixed.

As a huge fan of podcasts, I am building a podcast information database that includes metadata on shows and episodes.

Vimium is the vim mode for browser.
I have been living with the broken yank feature for the past two weeks and just found out that Vimium has been disabled on the Mozilla addon site and leaving me no way to get the yank fix.
Also a long time keepass user.
The db file on my Mac is shared with iCloud and is acted as the master file. All updates happen on the mac and the rest of the clients just sync and do read only. It has been working well.
All my website passwords are saved in firefox account so I rarely need to update the db file.
I have both PHPStorm and Pycharm running, each takes up 4+GB memory on a 8G M1. Slowly growing memory usage for WindowServer process makes matter worse.
For the last week, I have been playing with Neovim in spare time using a setup based on https://github.com/LunarVim/nvim-basic-ide It does pinning plug-in too.
It's working well for small projects so far.

I built a historical feed builder[0] so I can listen to previous episodes in one feed.
Most podcast feeds only include last ~100 episodes. Podcasts such as Planet Money and Radio Lab have more than 1000 episodes in total.
Manually combining the feeds is too time consuming and I enjoy building this tool.

I have heard some companies hide the truth of relocating to another city and announce it right before the move. As employee, you either move with the company or find a new job.
It's probably better to build a team in the new location then announce the move in advance. It will be a shock either way.

Something that We do at my current job:
* set a standard and stick with it. tweak it if needed. we even have naming standard on some of the json key. for example, use XXX_count for counting. when it doesn't make sense, use total_XXX.
* Document your API, we use postman and code review API changes too.

It all stems from when Mirantis first acquired the Docker Enterprise business two years ago, they put out a blog saying, “We’re gonna support Swarm for at least two more years and we’re gonna take that time to kind of see what the need is, what the market dictates…”
Unfortunately, some third parties took that and said, “Oh, they’re only going to support it for two years and then they’re going to sunset it.” That’s not true at all. This is important to us and to our future direction. We continue to invest in it and we have lots of large enterprise customers using Swarm in production at scale.
Building a side project using python scrapy to scrape podcast shows. I use it to search by title/description etc to find interesting podcasts. Also as a way to learn different tools and frameworks.

I am used to work in Linux OS VM(Virtualbox and Vagrant in MacOS) and do most PHP/Python web development. It seems that Virtualbox won't be supported and There is only one Linux VM option available [UTM](https://github.com/utmapp/UTM)

Well it certainly is not a state secret. Just google 'China business tax reform' It was a hot topic back 2, 3 years ago because businesses complained about the high tax rate.
Average Chinese may not think about paying tax for each sale because it's not printed on the receipt. But the price they pay do include all the taxes incurred to the business.
It's been a while, I remember that the receipts I got from IKEA and 711 do print the exact tax applied to this sale.
I can imagine that It's far cheaper to make friend with the police chief by giving him a free meal. Just in case the restaurant need special attention from the chief for situations like local gangs ask for protection money(probably very rare) or fight with drunken eaters. You never know.
It's still norm to bribe local officials so they will go easy on the businesses, such as speedy things up when dealing with the local gov, not enforcing laws when the business wants to pay less taxes.. etc.

I can share how people in China deal with this.
During the high of the coronavirus outbreak, for individual or company, one could call the banks to postpone mortgages, loans or credit card payment for 1 to 3 months. Business may get longer extension if the situation worsen. That was possible in February, less so now as life turns normal gradually since March. Work resumed, shopping mall reopened etc. schools still closed though.
As for rent, Business tenants negotiate with landlord for rent forgiveness, something like half month or one month rent.
