Linkin Park is finally back, with the most hilarious countdown teaser, a secret LIVE comeback show on Sep 5, a new album, a partnership with League of Legends, and a tour!!

Most importantly, a new vocalist Emily Armstrong. What do you think of their new songs?!!

Ah, I get it! The playback speed options can be a bit off-putting when you're quite used to reading fast. So far, yes it's a lot more tech people but that seems to be changing slowly.

I like the newness in terms of just voice (the experience), and feeling it a lot more personal while hearing all these usually distant and far-fetched people!

Eventually making money from something you enjoy doing is a win-win. But starting off somewhere to later restart elsewhere is gonna be painful.

Substack apparently has (or had?) a good reputation, but I read people switching to other platforms, and started doubting it.

Gotta look up hackernoon. Thanks :)

The former does sound like one of those classic workplace complacency or just complacency situations for that matter.

cut off a lot of areas I was enjoying working in and removed my room for growth

These are legitimate concerns.

For the latter, if something pairs more with your interests, it is far more likely to make you feel more content personally and professionally. Especially if you enjoy hands on working over being in a leadership/ managerial position, it looks like a good opportunity to switch.

Saving commute time and energy isn't a bad trade-off, too.

About the worry about making a feeling-based decision - there's a quote that says "All decisions are emotional."

In other words, anything that brings unfamiliarity is bound to be temporarily uncomfortable.

(Come to think of it, the stakes are still much lower with a team switch)

All the best!

Inactive open source projects are a huge reason why skepticism arises. The reliability becomes justifiably questionable.

This is exactly where organized open source and commercial open source (COSS) products come into play.

They're supported by an active community, funded by the users (and investors at times), and companies don't run out of resources to maintain and scale what's helping the primary user-base.

I was recently reading The Almanack of Naval Ravikant (great book btw), and one of the interesting things was he spent all his after-school hours in the library, for years! (It was a circumstantial thing)

But it's such a great way to get into reading, and feed your child-like curiosity with the best resources.
