Its called soft touch or "rubber oil". It's basically silicone suspended in plastic which gives that soft touch feeling before it biodegrades to the sticky goo.. We can easily clean that with isopropyl alcohol. You will be left with the clean hard plastic below that layer.

Have you seen H3+ ? it looks like its an HC2 with a more powerful CPU. I just received one and my plan to install OpenBSD on it some time this week.

I would highly recommend moi3D.com. Its ‘only’ a NURBS modeler but I’ve successfully used from initial concept design all the way to DFM. Its user interface is extremely well thought out and its written by Michael Gibson who is also the original developer of Rhino3D.

I think that the fact that our society was mainly designed (or evolved) to maximize the profits of the people in power as opposed to peoples wellbeing plays a huge part in depression. Some people just don't fit in our monoculture (school, job, family etc) and all we are offering them are ways to make them fit and become productive members of society which was the problem to begin with..

You can still use telnet v1.9.4 on macOS. Just copy it from an old version of OSX (pre High Sierra). It still works fine on Monterey.

In Cyprus, where i live, this is an actual joke still said today! I've heard (and said) this joke many times in my life, and it never crossed my mind that it's 2000 years old. Setup is the same and the punchline goes "Οτι νομίζεις τζιαι εν καλά τζιαι ύστερα τρώμε!" (in Cypriot greek)

Yes, thats exactly how i feel. I'd still hate it if my iCloud uploads are scanned but I'm already assuming that anyway.

But the fact that my iOS device can potentially report me to any authorities, for whatever reason, is crossing a line that makes it impossible to ever own an iPhone again. I bought my first one in 2007 so I'm not saying this lightly..

Does anybody know if this policy will extend to macOS too?

Yes it cares. If you rename a folder to folder.app then it will change to look and "behave" like an app. Or if you change the extension of a video file to mp3 you'll loose the icon preview.

Finder does try to help with renaming and when you try to rename a file only the filename is selected and not the extension.

Firefox 82 6 years ago

It has been available for some time now, just not enabled by default. Try setting apz.allow_zooming to true and restarting Firefox.

The linked post shows the commands in allcaps (Safari/macOs) so the actual preference filename is: com.apple.LaunchServices.QuarantineEventsV2 That file contains very few tens of random, mostly old filenames, almost none from Safari which is my main browser.

So at the very least "a log of all your downloads" is a huge exaggeration.
