Another way of saying it, if an AI agent doesn't have true risk of oblivion (or mortality in the biological sense), it will not be incentivized to avoid it (or develop the ancillary processes associated with this avoidance ie desire to self-replicate).

In my own experience, nano banana still has the tendency to:

- make massive, seemingly random edits to images - adjust image scale - make very fine grained but pervasive detail changes obvious in an image diff

For instance, I have found that nano-banana will sporadically add a (convincing) fireplace to a room or new garage behind a house. This happens even with explicit "ALL CAPS" instructions not to do so. This happens sporadically, even when the temperature is set to zero, and makes it impossible to build a reliable app.

Has anyone had a better experience?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that all the data about these "UFO"'s:

1. is conspicuously low quality, grainy 2. presents inconsistent imagery of the phenomenon 3. originates from sensor equipment most laymen are unfamiliar with and thus unable to know if they've been spoofed 4. presented in the context of clickbaity commentary

This look exciting, but I am obsessed with the lack of subpixel rendering for fonts in godot (imgui, nanovg, etc). The fonts just look crummy to me.

As I understand it, subpixel rendering is a treacherous patent landscape. Is that the reason why it is consistently missing from these tools?

As an 18 year old, I had zero job experience so I could never find a job.

I bought a lawnmower on craigslist and started putting up flyers. This set me back ~$75 at the time. I also did odd job painting and handyman jobs. I found a solid collection of clients fairly quickly and just walked around the neighborhood.

Think of all the physiological responses attributed to nervousness (e.g. before public speaking): muscle tension, raised heart rate, sweating, need to urinate/defecate, insomnia, nausea.

Given that, why are we so convinced that our mind (i.e. our prefrontal cortex, seat of "high level" thinking) _couldn't_ be the cause of persistent inflammatory pain? Do not ideas and stressors persist in our mind, just as pain might?

Sarno's simple thesis is that stress in our daily life could, in fact, be the underlying trigger for inflammatory pain. The mere realization of this, for many people, can resolve chronic pain problems that last years and are resistant to treatments that assume the cause of the issue is structural.

I love Gilbert Strang, but _by far_ my favorite book on calculus is "Calculus Made Easy" by Silvanus Thompson. It supplies a very elegant and powerful set of tools to derive many of the "fundamentals" of calculus.

I don't disagree that WPF is a good framework for making Windows/Windows Phone applications. Nor do I disagree that the JavaScript/Web community has reinvented many of the same ideas. It's hard to explain to an AngularJS fan that WPF had many of the same ideas long ago. But let's be honest, these ideas (bindings, uni-directional data from from the model layer) aren't really that amazing.

Now, WPF may be ahead of the HTML/JS from a technical point of view right now. But the community is a completely different thing. That's what differentiates things today (not to mention the bag of cash Google is pushing into web standards) and really is the only thing that matters when it comes to the success/failure of a technology.

I think you're right that WPF will last a good deal longer. There's too much software already written for Windows/.NET, but "many, many" years is a stretch.
