Doing the wrong thing (completely ignoring Norma) < doing the right thing for the wrong reason (RMA because of the bad publicity) < doing the right thing for the right reason (RMA because someone at NE screwed up) < doing the right thing in the first place (RMA when it was originally asked for)

Clearly Newegg is in one of the middle categories. Personally, I think as long as customers are taken care of it doesn't so much matter what the decision making behind it is.

What type of diversity are you referring to? Is this really something that factors into a decision about where to live?

I would think saying "I want to live somewhere where everybody is different than me" is almost as bad as saying "I want to live somewhere where everybody is the same as me"

This. 5 years ago it may have been easier, but I don't remember the last time I was even able to connect to a free publicly available wifi signal, whether I did or not.

If you're going to implicate every major US telecom company in a massive conspiracy to commit a crime, you should probably have a source.

Or not be crazy.

Can someone with VC experience (on either side of the table) explain what part of an investment goes into the founder's pocket? Does it change with each deal or is there a standard percentage?

Obviously a $10MM investment does not equate to a $10MM deposit in the founder's personal bank account, but at what point is the founder no longer expected to live on Ramen?

I agree.

I've been using OSX for about 3 years now. I just recently built and set up a PC with Windows 7 in the past 3-4 months. I am in absolutely no hurry to upgrade barring some huge technological innovation, which I have no reason to believe will be coming from Windows 8.

I was in the same boat as the parent post until your third bullet. That's certainly enough to keep the mortgage paid and food on the table, so I think now is the perfect time to do what you're doing. When the kids go to school and things get more expensive for you it'll be harder and harder to make this decision.

Best to find out now if it's sustainable for you. Good luck.

Let's stop pretending that the terms "Israeli" and "Jew" are interchangable, because they're not. While it may have at the beginning, I don't think Jewishness or lack thereof has anything to do with the West Bank. At this point it's a dispute over citizenship, property, and human rights.

I say this as an American with no connection to either side.

This is no different. The onus is on the person renting out their property/room to declare rental income and remit the appropriate taxes.

On a side note, it breaks my heart to read "all this money changing hands without being taxed sure seems weird."

I am a fan of OSS and wouldn't be particularly worried having my platform be OS, in whole or in part.

I hadn't thought of a premium platform on top of the current OSS solution, that's a really good idea and I will need to look into that a little more. Some elements are MIT, some are Apache 2.0; I haven't seen anything prohibiting commercial use but IANAL.
