i built a few jobs boards (http://djangojobbers.com, http://railsjobbers.com). If I see any interesting django job published I apply to it (usually pointing out you are the system developer grants you some extra points).

Also I built a password manager (https://identee.com). I am finishing a pro version of it (with a Command Line Interface client, instead of browser based), which is the one I am using. Indeed I am the only one using it since its not live yet ;-)

Not really, it was just the result of twisting a few related words until finding a non registered domain not sounding too bad :-)

It is not the first time I hear that. For now its not possible.

I am currently very busy trying to launch my new project, but as soon as I have some spare time to dedicate I will try to build this feature.

Well here is my journey. A few months ago, I built a vertical jobs board platform, free for developers and paid by companies announcing their job offers (yes another one).

The numbers:

I launched during summer and have made around $200.

Have 1125 developers subscribed to daily alerts

Have processed around 1500 applications for 81 jobs posted (most of them through 100% discount tickets given away)

The idea was not very well thought, but something simple to start with. I used it to start gaining experience and also to start building a reusable code base (mailing, billing, etc) that would let me move faster with future products, not expecting to make any money at all from it. As a single founder/developer/designer/sysadmin/marketer/support guy etc, I found it very hard to accomplish, but very rewarding once it was launched.

Now I am getting ready to launch a new thing (identee.com) to help low level users increase their security by storing their usernames & passwords encrypted in the cloud.

Took my time (around 10 mins) and got 8/9 Decided to make a new try selecting randomly (around 10 seconds) and got 4/9. Old lesson from engineering school reminded: usually the most accurate is not the most cost effective solution.

Didn't meant (I realise how unfortunate writing the comment I was) it was PG objective crushing anyone. Its only I can not imagine a worst moment for an engineer with so huge webmail background like this one, moving out of fb only 3 days from launch (the rest was buggy literature)

Incredible announcement, 3 days before (rumors say) Facebook opening their "gmail killer". I am reading this like a fat slap on zuckenberg's face(book hehe) Big thumbs up for PG for messing in facebook vs google brains war.

(edit: seems I wasnt able to explain I was trying to congratulate YC for being able to play in the big league where such companies are punching each other. I think this speaks a lot about how YC name is growing.)
