I think I recall Chomsky saying something along the lines that the financial press is the most reliable because it isn't in their economic interest to mislead their audience.
May be wrong, but I think it correct to say glass is a 'fluid' (it flows - very slowly), gases and liquids are generally fluids. But glass is not a liquid.
The association you have is not for the local / galactic chart from Elite, but rather the navigational scanner when in flight - used the same 3-D positional rendering for nearby objects. See bottom centre here: https://www.retrogamer.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Elite-...
I thought this interactive piece on the principles of game theory and strategy evolution in populations might be interesting to some. Reminded me of the more detailed explanations that Dawkins gave in The Selfish Gene and/or The Extended Phenotype (can't recall which one).
One of the earliest working applications of this in the 19th century was very near to where I live in Dublin: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalkey_Atmospheric_Railway. The railway was used to carry stone from the quarry (which was a few hundred feet above sea level) to the shore a couple of kilometres away, to build what is now Dun Laoghaire harbour.
One of the small roads near where the line used to run is still called Atmospheric Road.
True, but also consider that you're the product in this case, and the salesman (in many cases) doesn't care who he makes the sale to. It may be better to first research and shortlist companies that you want to target, and then find a recruiter who has them as a client? Never done that myself, so don't know how practical it might be.
There's something to note about this film which, once you know it, detracts from it in a significant way. Since it's a bit of a spoiler, if anyone want's to know drop me a mail.
"Q: Why can't citizens of Cuba, Iran, Myanmar (Burma), North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Brazil, Italy, Quebec, and Saudi Arabia participate?
A: Lisp In Summer Projects is similar to Google's Code-It, which is where the requirement originated. Lisp In Summer Projects does not have access to Google's cadre of lawyers and cannot invite legal risk to ourselves, our associates or our sponsors."
-- what's up with Brazil, Italy and Quebec that they're on this list, can anyone tell me?
