Not sure it was a disingenuous comparison. If they’re saying the heat from a DC is drop in the bucket provided by the sun (in a given area), then that heat would indeed be negligible. On the other hand, if that heat comes in water form, and upsets the ecosystem (in a given area), then that would be NOT negligible. Not really about optionality in either case.

As of now Azure Status page still shows no incident. It must be manually updated, someone has to actively decide to acknowledge an issue, and they're just... not. It undermines confidence in that status page.

For me it’s not a nihilist pit. The fact that I’m gonna die and nothing I do matters that much alleviates some dread. It’s not a deep and endless ocean I’m swimming in, just a comfy little pool.

My gut says no because of the way language relates to meaning. In language, a “chair” is a chair is a chair. But in meaning, a chair is not-a-stool, and not-a-couch, and not-a-bench etc. We understand the object largely by what the object is similar to but not.

In order for the LLM to meaningfully model what is coherent, empathetic, free from bias, it must also model the close to, but NOT-that.
