Ah such condescension! I was careful not to provide an opinion, but replicate the answer as is. The intent was not to treat that answer as fact; but I thought that response was pretty revealing and in fact supported the parent comment on LLMs having been trained on copyrighted materials. The response chatgpt provided was that OpenAI models are designed to create original content "without directly referencing copyrighted characters". If it was creating original content it needn't have referred to the constraint with respect to avoiding directly referencing the copyrighted characters.

when asked the reason, ChatGPT had this to say- "Actually, the choice of “Elara” wasn’t a result of training on specific copyrighted stories or any prompt to avoid copyright claims. OpenAI models like me are designed to create original content without directly referencing copyrighted characters, and "Elara" is simply a popular-sounding name in many storytelling contexts. I just used it consistently for its versatility, but I’m totally open to switching things up!"

Wisdom is such a loaded term. I think the article conflates wisdom with productivity - "To become more productive, do less!" could have equally been an apt title.

For your purposes, (a dictionary of key terms, unfortunately there is no government publication. However, one good hack you can consider is to look at the Section 3 of the General Clauses Act, 1897. The terms defined under this Act will govern the meaning in all the central/federal legislations and rules unless those legislations specifically define these terms. The terms defined under General Clauses Act include terms such as affidavit, immovable property, person etc. (essentially terms similar to the ones used in your dictionary). Great work! If relying only on government sources is not a pre-requisite, you could also consider this site for glossary of terms under Indian laws (https://nyaaya.org/glossary/). I am not associated with them, but they do incredible work in providing digital, accessible legal information to the general public. And they make it available under creative commons license.

I strongly second this. It took me some time to learn the first time set up. But it's been well worth it. Now all it takes to post something is write on a plain text file -> git commit the updated folder.

We have a system where lawyers cannot charge contingency fees. I guess the rationale is founded upon lawyers being perceived as 'officers of court', and the expectation of ethical conduct. When money is a factor, boundaries of ethical conduct tend to be hazy. while you owe a duty to the client, you also owe certain duties to the court/tribunal and even to the adversaries- including duty of fairness.

It is interesting to note that while some of the U.S. rules of professional conduct states that a lawyer shall represent a client "zealously", such a requirement is missing in our code of conduct rules.

I am a solo non-technical founder who hired and fired around 10 developers on a freelancer platform before finding the gem of a developer who single handedly completed the platform. Unfortunately, after a year he has left and now I'm struggling to find a replacement. The web app is still running fine, but further development is stalled. I'm wary of giving access to the entire codebase to the would be new hire. And I being a non technical person, have no idea how to give only partial access to my developer.
