That's the explanation Stone released today. Seems to be a mobile app focused on social good-doers.

This was exactly the same problem when AirTime tried to use the Chat Roulette concept to create an app "to meet new people on your social graph".

Using FB connect killed all the fun in that. You can tell by the disclaimer they're now using on their landing page.

This was presented yesterday at AngelHack, I guess the team built the website as quick as they could. The presentation was quite good. Will have to look into the AngelHack videos to see if they post it.

I saw the presentation of this startup at @AngelHack, they are pretty focused on building the product. I guess a better website is coming next on their roadmap.

That happens a lot outside the U.S. too, so I guess is better to have something worth less than 40 bucks to do the tracking.

I agree that this information should be private (that's why Google Health didn't work as GOOG planned, right?).

But they offer a way for you to make your information private.

I think the encryption makes even more sense in services like https://www.23andme.com where you're getting genetic analysis information.

I don't think blood oxygen level can be measured using the phone's camera. Also, I read an article lately regarding the low level of accuracy regarding heart rate measured using an iPhone camera. I'll try to find it and post it.

Totally agree. The idea seems to be a good one, but the fact that it's limited to iOS and using the old connector is a big letdown.

Do you think it's possible to sustain this model w/out advertising? I'd love if they can pull that off.

We'll see. I do agree we're entering on a phase where people want to curate the over-information they're exposed to. I don't know if this will be the way to go, though. It's just a matter of time.

Weird, most browsers show the pics as they're uploaded to Twitter. And yes, it's pretty fast because people are sharing lots and lots of pictures related to Sandy right now. Will try to slow them down, but it won't be real time anymore.

Thanks for your comment! We created it in about 15 minutes right when Sandy arrived to NYC, so we had little time to optimize it. It's showing in real time what's being shared over Twitter, it's not curated at all. Cheers!
