Ubuntu 26.04 3 months ago

icaza hasn't dev or used gnome for like decades.... and i am not sure why you assume the intent of miguel like that.

what is this one about:

When nobody is forking a 157,000-star repository, nobody is using it

that is completely not true, i don't fork a repo when i use it, only when i want to contribute to it (and usually cleanup my forks)

garmin is arguably one major smart watch vendor and has a great battery life

nice idea but i get that error when i try to use the docker image (on a nixos env)

NameError: name 'SRE_FLAG_TEMPLATE' is not defined. Did you mean: 'SRE_FLAG_VERBOSE'?

(using the mentioned docker command on README $ docker run --rm -v `pwd`/nginx.conf:/etc/nginx/conf/nginx.conf getpagespeed/gixy /etc/nginx/conf/nginx.conf)

The State of Vim 1 year ago

:! itself has not been stripped from neovim, it's the "interactive" :! that has been stripped (as the OP said)

i.e if you do :!bash in vim you enter bash in neovim you won't

I use devenv.sh and generate oci containers out of it, which give me kinda the best of both worlds!

(nobody in my team use vscode or devcontainers but enjoy using docker)

it never has been my experience! i have used lazyvim distro for the last year or so and run some :Lazy update for time to time and usually i just need to close neovim and restart and it will all be working well..

I think i had an issue when they moved to conform.nvim from the deprecated language server based method but that's maybe about it (I deleted the nvim cache and it was all good after)

alt+tab on gnome use that same concept of osx!

but i actually use a tiling WM the way OSX intended the user to its own desktp, with a bunch of virtual desktop and full screen app

I just carry those vent phone holder and use my phone when renting cars.. it's not the best but does the job for getting to the hotel....

obviously i rather have carplay if i could but i am worry about security implication, plugging to a car i don't know

Fedora Linux 40 2 years ago

I like Fedora but I only wish it was supporting rpi5 without any kernel hacks..

currently using raspbian with nix on top of it, it's not bad but rather have something more seamless
