Hey Everyone - did you know that I once single-handedly saved 1.6 million kitties from a forest fire?
Yeah, well I did. Cool, I know. But hey, I like puppies better than kitties. Should I mention my amazing feat on this application to the NYC Fire Department?
Do you think the NYC FD will even care I saved 1.6 million kitties? Saving turtles is WAY cooler right now, sort of like node.js., I wouldn't want anyone to know that I was even good at saving kitties.
Thx, Grant
OMG
I tried this at the grocery store tonight. Win.
Look up @edash on Twitter. Dude is connected to Austin startups.
Also...AppSumo/Noah Kagan is looking for a sales guy/gal in ATX.
Recurring, recurring, recurring. Recurring revenue makes a business.
Recurly or similar makes it easy, albeit a bit spendy.
Another great mind.
Any lawyer worth his IP-transfer-contracting-salt is outpricing my budget on this sale.
Next 3 steps.
Network, hustle, hustle.
In that order.
I already have a tendered offer on the table. Does flippa.com provide contracts outside of their ecosystem?
Also...not too keen on paying commission to a third party for a deal that has already been negotiated.
It's always good to be prepared. Because the plan is to be filthy rich in the near future, and singledom has its navigational hazards.
Did anyone stop to think that Bing is leveraging IE to improve/influence search results regardless of the URLs this monitored traffic is gleaned from?
Google states 9 of 100 planted queries showed up on Bing. You think Amazon, Godaddy, and AOL could make similar claims?
Probably...but those examples aren't worried about their market share evaporating.
Many comments can be made on the actual state of surveillance in many democratic countries...
These commenters can only comment on their perception. After all, perception is reality.
Many Chinese think life is grand, no idea about the level of examination their lives have.
Let us live our own lives as if everyone knew.
I'm very libertarian (private life should be private). But karma knows no bounds.
Yet Porsche owned/owns 75% of VW. Do your research.
Let me know when Facebook has $2 CPCs across the board and I'll agree with this statement
Google has users. Facebook has watchers. What did Yahoo have?
Well stated argument, but I think Google (at present) is much more diverse a company product-wise, and way better at monetization in terms of screen real estate and multi-modal revenue streams. (infrastructure, ad networks, functional products, etc)
Virtual gifts aren't changing the world anytime soon.
At this valuation, I want to put money into SecondMarket stock, not Facebook.
Facebook is a great company, with tremendous prospects. Its growth curve is going to slow significantly, however.
This is exactly the sort of analysis I LOVE HN for!
I haven't heard of that one yet...looks pretty cool. Does it have a snap-to-grid feature?
Constructive critique:
Great video production quality/animations/etc. Fantastic (who did this?)
Voice talent...needs higher energy. Female perhaps?
Takeaways....
This product is intended to improve people's lives. In this ad, wakemate appears to keep people very marshmallow-looking.
I want to have an enough energy to hit the gym twice a day, not jiggle on a walk with a 30+ BMI.
Check out the FRS ads.

I like realism when wireframing, but Keynote is clunky.
Programs like Balsamiq try to imitate sketching. (pen and paper is faster)
What's the slickest option out there?
I have trouble reading long documents anywhere. :-)
This may be a result of:
1. Higher resolution photos go hand-in-hand with professional branding. Professional branding brings a more integrated online strategy.
2. Bigger = More Handsome/Pretty
3. ....
Assuming it's not LA traffic, roads are for all intents and purposes, public goods.
Political power and influence usually begin with an individual writing an idealistic essay...
Thomas Jefferson, Ron Paul, Adolf Hitler, (prisoner to Chancellor in under 10 years), Barack Obama (nobody to President in under 10 years)
...I could go on, but I'll let others add names and stories
WikiLeakiaspora?
I gave roads as an example of a public good.
Your Superhighway metaphor-metaphor is getting further into the ether, without adding substance (unless you can make your statement about concrete more concrete).
Sometimes I wish there was an 'easy button' to figure out the context of comments.
Can you be a bit clearer? I'm not seeing anything constructive yet.
Roads aren't ideas, they're hunks of concrete.
