Go check out ektoplazm.com, electronic music with permissable licenses. Good for the culture of this website. Most things can be downloaded in flac.

Then when you have found a style, soundcloud is likely your home to find stuff and then when you have found it you can either rip it or buy it.

I haven't used a public site since Suprnova so I don't know about the health of public p2p sites at all. The private side is absolutely not stagnant, new sites pop up all the time and you can still find all the niche stuff you want to find by just nudging the enthusiasts with requests.

A lot of them seed from home, with humongous servers, and there are preservation programs going on in various places.

Music piracy is alive and well if you know where to look. Some places has been mentioned in this thread already. Of course there is no replacing the magic of early 2000-2010's p2p sites like OiNK, What and Waffles - but well curated sites still exist.

Surely copy-pasting a short text and possibly a link is not actual work that takes time.

All they would need to do is set up some cross-posting pipeline and the work would be pretty much zero.

They could even drive people to click on mastodon/bsky links this way if they wanted people to go to the decentralized web.

This take is not valid.

Two games in a row now I have gotten to a point where the last two pieces are ontop of eachother. I think this is perfectly fine, but seems to happen a little too often. Or I was just very unlucky.

Otherwise it's a sweet game!

I explored the programming language nim a bit deeper for use in game programming with SDL3 bindings, but I came to find out that compiled nim code on Windows often triggers anti-virus because, from what I hear from people, nim is used a lot in malware development currently. Which is a shame because I really like that language. I haven't tested it myself, it's just things I have heard and read. Someone on r/gamedev told me to write the code in nim, generate C code and then compile it with zig cc.

If anyone has any experience with this, please do chime in :)

In certain subreddits I have seen the idea that there is no revolution, it's all mossad/CIA propaganda. It's quite conspiratorial but it's the same subs that typically love China, NK etc so it's not surprising.

However, I have seen these thoughts spread to more seemingly mainstream geopolitical subs as well. I am not sure how much astroturfing is going on here. Probably quite a lot.

I laughed out loud when I saw computers in blue text, always fun to see a HoL reference.

I have a Lenovo used minipc connected to mine and I just use a Logitech K400+, it runs Linux with KDE. I will never need a smart tv, or want one, for that matter.

I get that people would rather have a remote but I personally actually don't like remotes at all. My TV is basically a screen only.
