I had a period of bad luck in my youth where I believed all these new enhanced CD's and shaped CD's were damaging the tracking of the lens on my CD player so I gave Exit-13 a swerve and started to listen to safer music ;)
What is the maximum bit rate for mixcloud mixes? The audio quality of anything I upload sounds terribly degraded especially when I share it with someone who is not signed in

At the time this was declared as a user base driven acquisition where Conde Nast assumed that the largely 20 to mid 30s male readership of Pitchfork would graduate to one of their traditional style publications once they came of age. Clearly it was misguided to assume that cash strapped college grads who grew up on mp3's and ramen would graduate to Eames chairs and Zegna fleeces without some VC backed lottery payout.

I enjoy reading posts about second hand Thinkpads outliving modern laptops but it is ironic to put a blog post on lo-tech frugality behind a paywall.
Like London there might also be a diminishing demand from under 25 year old young adults wanting to go to nightclubs in Berlin. A taxi driver told me for weekends he would work a mile radius picking up people to and from Fabric nightclub, now the demand has tailed off considerably.
If young people are not compelled to go to clubs these venues they might have to wait out for the next generation and a potential culture change.

Concert tickets are also increasingly expensive as is merchandise and travel. Could it be that the least well off demographic doesn't want to pay a premium for drinks when it means more queuing and inevitably a bathroom break during the performance?

I don’t think you can spend much emotional investment on those songs. Modern music uses less words and notes than previous decades as well as avoiding melody, time signatures, triple eighths, codas
I can’t think of a song chorus or a phrase that has endured in the last decade. If it was a gameshow question to complete the lines from these contemporary songs how many would struggle?
The thing I noticed was that the price of an average record skyrocketed in price but the demand for an adequate turntable has not been as noticeable.

I paid £200 on an electric desk for working at home which has been a great investment.
My Sony Bravia never connected to the internet and has never been used to login to netflix or youtube. Though I use it regularly as a screen for a media center it isn’t smart enough to stay on for more than three hours at a time without me prodding the remote control which is only used to switch it on. As annoying as that sounds I imagine the only metrics it could be recording is how long it was on for as well as having nowhere to send the data to.
I’m just thankful the closest I got to Adobe was installing Acrobat reader on a PC when I was a humanities student. After switching to software development I have never had to use Creative Suite or Creative Cloud.
As much as I appreciate my x220’s god knows what they would be like if I hadn’t replaced the stock OS. Thank god Ubuntu aren’t shipping Lenovo Vantage just yet
It just shows that ten years some plugins have come and gone as have many GUI text editors however Vim endures
A simple low energy computer that does one task like word processing or act as a terminal client with an ink display would be a useful for focusing on one task without distraction. I personally would love to have a low energy terminal device that I could work in for hours however my pessimism tells me there is not enough demand to scale this.
This is why it is important to not depend on a single commercial IDE to do all your work. Datagrip has been my go to for sql but would be willing to switch back to dbeaver if I had to. I also use Pycharm when a client has me working with Terraform alongside python repos. However the ide sugar for Terraform isn’t that beneficial and I often feel it would be better if I just went back to vim with a few tweaks for .tf files
