don't want to sound dismissive, it's known that llms understand state, so you can couple code generation + state, and you have sort of a runtime. E.g. see the simulations with linux vm terminals: https://www.engraved.blog/building-a-virtual-machine-inside/

I noticed some odd results when switching from "today" view to "this week" view. Maybe they take into account some hidden parameters like diversity of the audience, time distribution, reputation, or maybe they have an odd definition of "week" like last 7 days vs Sun to Sat. If a project doesn't show up maybe the underlying ranking suspects foul play.
sure they did, but they can’t show
FWIW dupes could be detected, would be a nice HN feature in fact, grouping similar news. Not free, ok, but doable.
it’s been 20+ years some doctors keep bringing up a correlation between gut bacteria and MS, and I don’t see anything new here, again. Always hoping for the best, but the trend is not promising well, at this pace it will take another 100 years of “news” :-( :-(
and when time comes and AI can run on a laptop, Apple will be 3-4 years ahead of everyone else…
same here, we’ll be watching for variations of avg humanity IQ, with very big differences between the impact on kids, adults and elders
if they dont fix it on MacOS and Linux they’ll keep getting bad feedback. The whole point of using web tech is being cross platform, looks like they don’t get it
The writing was on the wall: when looking for info we don’t interact with people continuously distracted by ads. We ask, focus on the answer, act. Google business model is shortsighted when looking at tech in terms of decades of humans modeling tech after themselves
https://rewind.ai right?
You can double those numbers if you consider all additional costs.
Uh, I didn’t notice it because on iOS it’s a static image at the top of the page
though PR should explain Why more than What, ie I can figure out what changed looking at files, but without context and design details an autogenerated description doesnt make a review any easier
the problem with all techniques used to protect from prompt injection is that they are not explicitly asking the model. Always validate input before processing it.
“Windows bridge to Android” would have been a better choice
I moved away too, this happened while I was closing all my wallets across multiple plats
personal experience, few bucks fortunately, lost and I’m giving up on it

Binance is a scam. They make it extremely hard to withdraw money, with errors, fake limits, unresponsive customer support.
? what
ChatGPT is in fact just a chat prompt on top of Davinci3, plus a markdown renderer
the chat supports some sort of markdown, so you can do other similar things, e.g. create documents, tables, etc.
what you’re probably looking for is becoming an AI app developer, leveraging inference to create new types of products. No need to become an expert in ML and training, to start with. That’s similar to what some people did about 12-15 yrs ago pivoting from web development to smartphone apps development.
yes, T=0 means no randomness, and given sufficient tokens the output should always be the same (in such case whether they cache is a matter of hit ratio, I'd guess)
In general it's better asking questions after the content, and T=0.7 is way too high. Here's HN homepage summarized with T=0 and TopP=1, asking "Summarize the content above.":
DV2> The content above is a list of the top 30 stories on Hacker News as of 2 hours ago. Each story includes the number of points it has received, the number of comments, and a brief description.
DV3> The above content is a list of 30 posts from Hacker News, featuring topics such as new GPT-3 models, US Reps urging the DOJ to investigate anticompetitive conduct, intentionally making close friends, enabling the future of GitHub's REST API, curation and decentralization, making close friends, learning C, FFmpeg, open-source tabletop board game simulator, hiring engineers to unify ML, illegal hashes, designing Windows 95's user interface, a three-sided coin, high performance data integration framework in Go, Mauna Loa eruption, AirDrop being limited to 10 minutes, 26 lines of code that changed the world, SwiftUI being slow, AVX 512 being the future, a directory of Mac menu bar apps, the ATtiny 2-Series, a Fijian island being strangled by vines, hospice becoming a for-profit hustle, protecting from what one wants, a psychoactive substance, AI WordPress code snippet generator, open source and saying "no", a factory that only builds white Toyota Land Cruisers, widget.json and widget construction set, and lab-grown timber/wood.
have you tried tweaking the behavior, e.g. asking not to guess, to be brief, providing examples, constraining output with syntactic sugar, etc? e.g. it's like talking to a person, give feedback and you might get better result.
From their email sharing the news:
We're excited to announce the release of the newest addition to the GPT-3 model family: `text-davinci-003`. This model builds on top of our previous InstructGPT[1] models, and improves on a number of behaviors that we’ve heard are important to you as developers.
`text-davinci-003` includes the following improvements:
* It produces higher quality writing. This will help your applications deliver clearer, more engaging, and more compelling content.
* It can handle more complex instructions, meaning you can get even more creative with how you make use of its capabilities now.
* It’s better at longer form content generation, allowing you to take on tasks that would have previously been too difficult to achieve.

isn’t the top score 4, as in N out of 4?
doodle:ai - Game #22 - 4/8
doodle:ai - Game #17 - 4/7
I don’t get it, 4/8? I see there are 8 valid answers but you can select only 4, or is there a time limit?
