Perhaps, but do you necessarily want to whitelist the entire site and all the accompanying JavaScript, or just the top level domain and a few components to allow it to work correctly. Depends on the granularity you desire. That's where uMatrix would come in handy.

I use two Digital Ocean servers in different datacenters in which I have ran this script (https://github.com/jlund/streisand).

I modified the script (https://github.com/jlund/streisand/tree/master/playbooks/gro...) before I ran it and pointed the upstream DNS servers to my two personal DNS servers that are hosted on different datacenters.

The DNS servers are running a script (https://github.com/Kolyunya/afdns) that pulls the hosts file daily from (https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts).

It has been working great for a few weeks, but I'm curious about any improvements I could provide.

Great answers folks. I don't think I will need it in the immediate future, and will attempt to only install necessary software that I anticipate that I will need. I bought the 4gb RAM MBA and it does well...much better in Chrome than in Safari..still learning.

Thanks. In Linux I used aptitude quite often to clean old kernel versions and install other verified software, and it felt good to install software from a relatively safe location. So, does this only install things that are in the Mac App Store?

Yes they do. Mt.Gox gets the transaction fee.

They have opened up there BIOS, and putting Linux on it is just as easy as any other laptop. Been using one for 1.5 years now.

I hope the company is interested in harvesting the hardwoods, which will allow for more biodiversity, less ecological disruption, and a more aesthetically pleasing environment. Hiking through a constantly harvested pine tree forest is not very enjoyable. In any case, letting nature do its thing, somewhat, is better than having delapidated houses strewn all over the place.

Given a few years, softwoods (pines - fast growing) will grow, then hardwoods (oak/hickory - slow growing) will begin to appear in abundance. Hardwoods are more valuable, but softwoods grow quickly and have less market value.

I have a prepaid dumb phone. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S4 with no cellular plan. I use OpenStreetMaps with GPS turned on. I can download the state I am interested in while on WiFi at home. Then I can navigate anywhere using my phone's GPS without even having a plan. I travel cross country on my motorcycle, and use turn by turn directions via my headphone while listening to pre-recorded music.
