This is almost exactly reflective of our experience here in Australia, too.

There's Zoom Meetings Client, Zoom Rooms, a desktop app, mobile app, Outlook Plug-in, Browser extension, etc.

You're right—in the past they could.

But App Store economics and subscription services have reset expectations on pricing and have forced downward pressure on upfront pricing.

So now even if a company (possibly like Shifty Jelly) wanted to retain that model it becomes close to impossible.

Something easier to read, and—to match the posts description—elegant would make this a much more attractive theme.

Not that it's hard to swap it out for anyone who likes the theme otherwise, but worth considering changing since first impressions will influence downloads/usage.

This is the only link I’m always happy to see resurface when posted here on HN. Every single time (maybe this is the 5-10th time?) I end up watching mesmerised for 50 movements or more.

Yet another vote for Spectacle.

I also pair this with Cinch[1] as I regularly switch between inputs and setups (KB & Mouse at the desk, neither on the go) and like to have flexibility with both keyboard and mouse/trackpad control.

The key value-add of Cinch for me is replicating Windows-style 'drag-to-top' for fullscreen, and 'drag-to-side' for half-screen window adjustments.

In short, Spectacle for fine-tuned keyboard controlled window management, and Cinch for mouse/trackpad.

There's also an aphorism with a similar but different sentiment, Hanlon's Razor [1], that states: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

Confused as to why there is any objection to this. He stated that it'll typically get a reply that includes their email, and he is simply creating context within the subject line – this advantageous for the receiver.

If it were me (and I had indeed shared my email to the person reaching out on Twitter) I'd appreciate the reminder of how/why they are reaching out on email.

Performance is 100% acceptable and fluid on an iPhone 7 in Safari.
