Students should pay for the privilege and opportunity provided by the diploma, namely a way to set themselves apart from the plebeians. Prestige is something AGI will never replace.

One ritual involved tying something that belonged to a sick person to the end of a throwing stick smeared in human or kangaroo fat. The stick was thrust into the ground before a small fire was lit underneath.

"The mulla-mullung would then chant the name of the sick person, and once the stick fell, the charm was complete," a Monash University statement said.

Noam Chomsky famously discovered that the building blocks of language are preloaded into the human mind, children use a hypothetical tool called the Language Acquisition Device to quickly learn grammar even with little input. I wonder is this a genetic device or something of a quantum nature?

In the US the solar industry waxes and wanes in certain states due to regulations, discounts and how the power companies treat home solar.

States define the ratio of electricians to installers so with the right ratio and availability of work there are plenty of contactors who will hire electricians without expecting any work to be completed.

There's an estimated 156,000 people in the USA that have HIV and are unaware of their status, 21% of the population believes in witchcraft here. It's not that HIV doesn't pose a public health risk, it's just not nearly as prevelent.

On Sunday morning, Musk posted a picture of Wikipedia asking for a donation below a snoozing emoji.

“Have you ever wondered why the Wikimedia Foundation wants so much money?” Musk asked in the next tweet. “It certainly isn’t needed to operate Wikipedia. You can literally fit a copy of the entire text on your phone! So, what’s the money for? Inquiring minds want to know…”

Railway time 3 years ago

At the time the American railroad interests were enslaving tens of thousands of Chinese and perpetuating genocide against the native people and animals, that's technically not co-operation nor was anything involving the English working class and industrial revolution.

I think the word you're looking for is subordination.

Construction work isn't that hard or back breaking. One guy's operating a machine and one guy is spotting him, you drive a lot, take hour lunches, sleep in the machines. $25 an hour to start. Foreman's are usually busy with the people above them.

I run a homestead as my primary means of surviving, it's similar work, 12 hour days, a fraction of the pay and pretty darn fulfilling.

USPS is a government service but it is self funded, the domain system has evolved a pure unregulated capitalist way of dealing with this dilemma.

Purchasers of domains are simply expected to buy all misspelled and closely matching addresses or a opportunistic advertiser or worse will set-up shop.

That's not how capitalism works, white papers show the world's elite are well aware the singularity marks the beginning of a new civilization, humans would be lucky to get a supporting roll.

650 dollar bills is a lot of singles, it could feed a man for a month or more, or provide enough gas to drive across the US, it must be a lot of money, but it's quickly lost when it comes to basic needs like housing, healthcare and education.

If a comedian is deplatformed should they ban the production team, ban Alex Jones' sound guy maybe, what about the people who voted for Trump, willing participation?

I could imagine certain protests being demonized and their attendants removed from meta for violating terms of service.

The real question is do they virtually round up the avatars for public deletions, or do they just disappear them?

I think a lot of people would enjoy virtual public executions, if anyone from meta is listening.
