WWWBoard is such a nostalgia hit. My local music venue's forum was where my early internet persona originated. Sometimes I nostalgic and use Wayback machine to see what all my fellow teenagers were talking about 25 years ago.
I tried both models. I could easily tell Maya was AI, but Miles sounded so lifelike that I felt that initial apprehension like hopping on a conference line with strangers. I even chuckled at one of his side remarks. It was strange knowing it wasn’t a real person, but it was very hard not to feel like it was.
Then I suppose AI laundering is where you slightly modify, or manually reproduce, the results of AI chatbots so there’s no trace that AI was used.
What would you hope to gain from a “more reliable” source when the DailyCaller article links to the sources of its claims? Do you not even bother to read something if it’s from a source you don’t frequently read?
If not vertical farming, weed killing lasers, an ze bugs, where is innovation needed in AgTech?
It would only take a few of the 17 companies that own nearly everything to affect hundreds of millions of products worldwide.
Couldn’t you just say not enough Democrats support it without somewhere interweaving blame on Republicans?
How many people tried to intentionally make themselves vomit once they heard the rumor?
I love my Toyota and will always recommend them as a reliable brand. Their replacement parts are relatively cheap and they’re easy to maintain.
We also have a number of pre-positioned ships, forward-deployed supply ships just chilling in the Pacific, waiting for something to pop off.
Just want to add to the positive voices wishing for Woz’s speedy recovery.
I use Phind daily, including the VSCode extension, and I love it. Much better than anything ChatGPT is able to come up and the code it generates requires little-to-no modification to work properly. Very big fan!
I think similar when I read stories like “police investigating use of slurs in local high school” or “police are investigating racial flyers” or some such…when did any of this become illegal? It’s not illegal in the US to have unpopular and or bigoted views.
Used to live in Japan and separating trash is no joke. If I didn’t use the right bag, or didn’t separate things properly, the trash bag would end up back on my porch with a big old yellow sticker. It was effective as I was really diligent with sorting my trash afterward.
VBScript helped me out of so many jams when I would have been otherwise hindered by government/military IT policies. Thanks for the memories.
Both Hulu and Peacock recently increased their prices by a dollar or something. Then Spotify did it. They’re just squeezing the last little bit of revenue they can before we’re all completely broke.
They weren’t previously misdemeanors, which is part of the problem. They made a felony on par with jaywalking.
Not that I would do it, but would I live longer if I just started eating naked mole rats?
The ultimate hacker hero of the ‘90s. RIP Kevin.
I’m guessing they paste a portion of the website’s source then tell ChatGPT to generate a script that can generate an RSS feed from that site.
with participants obsessive but aging, very few young people entering the scene
I believe amateur/ham radio is experiencing a similar aging out of interest as well.
This is the reason I mod subs. Mods love to come up with new things they feel is ban-worthy. I try to remind them that we already have rules and just have to enforce them without creating additional work. It’s not fun always feeling like the dissenter, but I do it respectfully. So far so good.
If it makes you feel better to think I’m fringe and not just the more vocal portion of the vast majority of people, then you keep living in your bubble.
The content itself isn’t toxic just because he community.
I don’t hate anyone and the sub has nothing to do with autogynephilia.
I mod a sub of 2M but our community is so toxic, we don’t think any of the users give a shit. Most of us mod on Apollo so I’m sure the sub will get a little less moderation (which is probably a win for users anyway). Most of the mod complaints about their automated power mod tools not having API access have been resolved according to spez.
Rolling Stone would know a thing or two about false accusations.
Hardly anyone has access to GPT-4? Isn’t it widely available now?
China gets to take over all of the projects they built, this giving them a foothold in the local government and economy.
