This is crazy to see this on Hacker News because I have a TX81Z sitting next to me on my rack. I've been using it for a few weeks now and love it for, obviously for Lately Bass, but also other tones I use in arps.

My family keeps our own compostable straws in the car. We typically don't ask for straws, lids, bags, etc. There are cases where you may forget, or can't avoid it, but overall it has decreased our yearly plastic use.

In a good environment and state of mind good clean acid can freak you out initially but after you peak you have this longer period of a zen like state where it seems you have endless energy and concentration.

That is why I'm interested in microdoses because if it can reproduce that zen period vs. the initial freak out period then it could potentially be very beneficial.

I don't doubt that it is unique for being active at such low levels. But the issue I was mentioning is ensuring that it is indeed real LSD and not some similar drug.

Currently there are variations of LSD that are becoming popular because of their legal stance. LSD is illegal but variations of it may not be - thus in some cases may be being passed off as LSD.

Even when there was lots of LSD around there was always the weird variations that just weren't very clean.

Often "family acid" was rated as the best. But the problem is every Tom, Dick, and Harry would swing their crappy acid as "family acid".

Most often you could determine good acid by the artwork on the print. Such as Alex Gray Jesus blotter, Alice and the Looking Glass, Flying Pyramids, etc.

So my point is - I just hope that what we're hearing as LSD is in fact good clean LSD.

So this kind of article is excellent and I really am excited about how entheogen can potentially heal productivity to depression.

I have been very interested in this concept and approach as I know several people who could benefit from this - myself included.

Psychedelics are tools and are not to be taken lightly. As much as an advocate as I am for them I also agree that they're not for everyone.

Finally being able to have access to testing and experimentation we may discover even more capabilities.

However, what drives me crazy is how are we supposed to get the medicine? Especially in the case of LSD I am concerned of purity and risk of finding it.

It's a lot different now than it was in the 80's - at least here in the midwest. We no longer have the Grateful Dead and/or "family" providing clean sources. To make matters worse it's most likely the > 40 year olds crowd who would be interested in this but who is going to sell a 'mom or dad looking person' a hit of acid? Hanging out in the concert lot isn't what it used to be ;-).

Perhaps in places like Marin County there still is some availability. I hope so and I hope it once agains paints it's way across the country/world.

I read about Chris back in '94 or so and was moved. I sold everything I had and decided to head out into the Colorado wilderness.

However, while working and saving for my trip I saw Phish and ended up going on Phish tour '95 instead.

Whether you head into the wilderness or follow your favorite band - IMO life on the road is a great building block for life.

There's hardly a period that goes by where I don't somehow think about my time spent on the road.

(...and I still see Phish every year ;-))

UPDATE: As it turns out they had bad contact info to contact us when the issue first occurred. So in all fairness they did make an attempt to get ahold of us. However, there still is the issue of handling support when you need it. Meaning, there has to be a way to support your users during a time of crisis vs. simple blackout - no matter who's a fault etc...

In our case it would be nice to have an account manager. As far as phone support I think the idea itself is comforting, however, it doesn't mean a solution is going to be fixed any quicker.

Regardless of the means - whatever you use has to work. I can't recall what it was but I had some sort of situation where you had to call and leave a message for support (ISP maybe?). The idea seemed ridiculous, but I was assured that it would work. Low and behold, it did - this business promptly returned calls and sorted out support issues. SO despite the weirdness of it, it did in fact work.

I completely agree. I think a common misconception is all psychedelics are the same - but last different times. Definitely not the case. They may share common characteristics but definitely have a personality of their own ;-)

Love seeing the rise in interest in psychedelics posts here. I have always had a strong interest in 'entheogens'. Its hard to write about such a subject matter due to their powerful nature. All I can say is early on it was about fun and partying, but over time the lesson I learned was they are powerful tools not to be taken because you have them but instead when you need them. Lately my interest has been in ayahuasca. Seems from what I have read its more of a healing tool.

Its a document portal - shepherddocs.com. I had several requests to build a simple client portal for accountants/financial advisors so decided to build out a SaaS vs. do it per client. They're happy with it so I would like to gradually get the word out.

Its a saturated market but I feel if I can capture a sliver of the need - that would be enough to liberate some of this coder's free time. Also - a lot of solutions are 'heavy' - these fellas just wanted a simple app that they can customize and 'bolt' on to their web site.

OK - here's one for Halloween. My niece asked for some sage to smudge her house - I didn't think any thing of it. Anyhow - during conversation I asked how my nephew is doing, he's 4. She said he won't sleep in his room for the last week. I said 'oh? is that bad?'.

Apparently she heard someone upstairs walking around then all of sudden he started screaming hysterically. She said it took her 10-15 min to bring him awake, into full consciousness. He said someone was in his room - on the ceiling. I'm like "Uhh...hmm that's weird".

She goes on to tell me he's had an imaginary friend - Maria. He's seen him talking to her, playing with her etc... I said "when did this all happen?". She said after her mother-in-law gave her an old chair that belong to a great grandmother or something.

Then she goes on to tell me that her mother-in-law came over to drop off old picture for her husband. One of them my nephew points out "Maria!"...his imaginary friend, the lady who the chair belonged to...

Needless to say - she doesn't think Maria is bad - but perhaps someone else is there or got invited in.

After smudging the house - which she said was very odd because the house started creaking like crazy, everything has subsided - and they got rid of the chair.

Anyhow - I considered getting the chair to play a prank on some friends - see if anything happens to them.

Always hear of ghost stories but kind of cool when you bump into one so close.

Cool - could that be done in squares and randomly across the page? I'm going to build a concert/fan site/photo/blog and its going to be very generic. Having a very subtle background pixilate may be a cool look.
