This is fantastic. I recently helped a few of the NGOs selected by Pineapple get their tech together to accept the funds. It gave me a chance to learn more (as much is public) about the fund and love hearing about bolder moves like this to make such an impact. Being close to the NGOs that did receive the funds, I can say first hand just how much of a difference this macro-funding is making for real orgs that care so much about change. @Pine thank you for giving a damn.

Hm, I'd love to hear more about the illegal thing you cited. My startup lets everyone choose, all we require is an EIN and there's no paperwork, and it's all been approved by my legal.

I've been through some various business types in the space, the worst was a registered Commercial Fundraiser where yes I had to setup bonds and the fees were ridiculous with individual filing between charity and state. But for you (and me actually) it doesn't seem as big of a deal until it hits scale. If you're referring to registrations for "Charitable Solicitation", we've been through that too. I quickly asked my legal and he responded with: as long as you're not specifically targeting persons in any state nor do you supply names and contact info for donors to the charities so they can't send thank you notes it's not an issue. YMMV and don't hold me to that, but it may not be a big issue for you and open up a new avenue.

I like it. I was [almost] an Acorns user because I dig the model of simple round-ups, but am too impatient to wait for small change to make a difference in my personal savings alone. To that note, I know pennies go a long way especially when combined with others to who needs them.

Feedback: Let users pick their own charities. I can tell by your FAQ you want to curate but people need to know their efforts are going to what they care about. I have personal experience with exactly this on a current startup, email me [in profile] if you want to chat more on it.

Congrats on launching something that matters to you!

A lot of the equipment is 3d printed in house since most all of this tech is still so new. The directors really like manual focus for much of their work, so I'm pretty confident there's no auto-focus ability. Similar to when you add a conversion between manufacturers with rigs and lenses. Hoping we can post more soon on the fun stuff the team is creating!

Big congrats to Peter, Raphel and the whole team! A solid service and solves a real problem that developers go through every time they start a new project & update their existing ones. Excited to see what you come up with next.

I get this complaint all the time and it's getting old. What's clear to developers is usually not to the user, that the combination of device + hardware + os makes developing "an Android version" a royal pain in the app store.

Nothing but great things to say about Keen.

I first found them when testing services via Segment.io and after spending a morning digesting the docs I realized it's what I needed for my company (at the time) to build a simple and scalable tracking/reporting API with. They reached out shortly after, and discussed my needs, offered help modeling the data layer with us and worked out an enterprise deal, the legal, etc. I realized early on they like working the hard challenges and helping us was fun for them.

For side projects as well as my current venture, I use them for tracking near everything, and the simple charting right in their interface makes it pretty easy to make quick decisions and break down the data.

I collect about 4mm events a month these days for my most successful project, and their APIs are still super fast and require zero up-keep from my end.

Congrats to Ryan & Nick over there for the success!
