I love the minimalism of the site! Something you don't see often anymore.

I'm way too straight-forward of a person in a sense that I rarely keep anything I'm thinking to myself, to a fault. But that also means I'm not afraid to be rejected and people can always expect honesty from me. Charisma goes along way with people like me, because without it, we're just assholes.

Yea but we don't put them in a building full of other violent offenders to rehabilitate them. We do that to get rid of them with zero care for whatever they will do once they serve their sentence because, yet again, we can get rid of them and whatever damage they do while they are outside of the prison is considered unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

Siderant: I find it funny how humans work. On a very personal level, we love each other (you <> your parents or significant other), but the further the connection goes to other people the less we care. Whereas if we cared about everyone in a very loving way, we would probably not get rid of people we don't like.

Yes it is, but lots of companies have upgraded to 10. Of all the offices I visit I see Edge open a lot. Chrome of course is the most popular, but I'm happy the awful web rendering engine that is IE is soon gone.

As a web developer, this is not true. An large number of clients I've worked with have used IE and thanks to Win 10 shipping with Edge (which in itself is a decent browser) I've noticed a huge decline in "but it looks odd in my browser" comments from clients. So while I don't like Windows, or Microsoft in general, I do like the push to get rid of legacy stuff by them.

I know this must be a stupid question to ask, but why does a document writing tool need security updates? Can someone hack in and write documents on your behalf?

On the company, sure. On the website, no. I didn't delete my Facebook account because I hate the company or something, I just simply didn't use it much anymore.

Ah, did not know that. All tho' I do bet Facebook will do everything they can do clickbait you into making a Facebook account once you already have Messenger as well.

As my overall Facebook usage had naturally gone close to "check once per week" in 2017, and do even that because of habit, I decided to delete it entirely from my life as soon as 2018 came around. The only thing that I'm not 100% happy with is that without Facebook you also don't have Messenger, which was the main thing I used to communicate with people. However, I still use Instagram to share Stories and photos and, luckily enough, it has a chat built in as well which works wonders.

Serious question: are there any ICOs that aren't scams? Or are there any ICOs that have raised money for something and have actually delivered that something? Seems like everyone from children to grandmas are doing ICOs these days and I've yet to hear about anything that _wasn't_ a scam.

Well, I think YouTube for stage acts is just like Streaming is to musicians. Most of them make the majority of their income by live performances, but the streaming is where its at otherwise.

That's not a problem if you never want to communicate with people from countries where they don't speak Spanish nor learn Spanish in schools. It is a problem however if it's an international city like Barcelona and most people I've met between 20 and 30 have very hard time understanding or speaking English.

I didn't say the English literacy rates are decreasing, I'm simply stating that they speak a whole more English in the north than in the south as far as young people go and it generally surprises me how bad English among young people here is. Is it because while they do learn English in schools, they don't practice it enough? Certainly can't be the case in Barcelona, right?

Yes, fallback is Spanish indeed. But I'm a young guy, I got to clubs a lot and most people I meet there are between 20 and 30 and having very hard time speaking in English. Which makes me amazed, especially in Barcelona, which is a very international city. The same problem is in France. It might be due the fact that most of the media never displays any English. Movies are over-voiced in Spanish and so forth. I have no sources to back this claim, it's just my theory.

Well, I'm Estonian living in Barcelona. A lot of things never bother to add Estonian support because we're such a tiny nation (like iOS, for example) which means our English is rather good. Good English is not something I've encountered much in Catalonia, so while yes I agree that having your country's technology work in your language is a must, it's also in my opinion a double-edged sword making more and more local people not speak English.

I'd recommend Elementary OS for that. Great small team behind it doing excellent open source work and the design team is also far superiour to those of the competition on the Linux space.

While they are it, could they make the Skype application an actually reliable one? I find WhatsApp video and call quality far superiour to that of Skype, which has years on WhatsApp. Not only is the video and call quality subpar, the app itself often behaves in odd ways. Personally, I've come to dislike Skype greatly.

On that note; I'm pretty sure Trump will fail the Turing test.

Umm, 25 here. All my friends are in the same age-group (21-29) and every other weekend we party like crazy. Sure, it's no longer the drink-until-you-puke type of party that we had when we were 18 (yes, in Europe you don't need be 21 to buy alcohol, 18 will suffice). It might be due to the fact that I also live in Barcelona, which is known for its parties.

As far as how I was raised - umm, mom gave me a beer to try when I was 16, I spit it out because it tasted awfully (I to this day don't drink beer, do not understand the appeal), but when I got 18 I bought some cuba libre and realized that not all alcohol tastes bad. I've never had exactly strict parenting, more-so "learn through your own mistakes" with guidance provided by my parents. I think I turned out alright.

You're confusing iTunes with Apple Music. iTunes Music was where you bought songs and albums. Apple Music is a streaming service just like Spotify where you pay monthly to have access to all of the music.

I would also be happy to find a cool thing to work on the side that could benefit people and/or companies. But, just like you, am not exactly the "Idea generator".

I haven't, but just did. It's pretty much the same in that you create inline HTML in Javascript. I'm not saying this is wrong. I'm just wondering why would someone prefer this method to a file-based templates (like Handlebars).

Why would anyone prefer this over Handlebars or any other templating language loaded in via separate files over Ajax, which is much nicer on the eyes? This just seems to me like it can get very complex and spaghetti-like very easily.

It's funny that most everyone I know with 6 or 6s has problems (slow, bad battery) and everyone I know (including mysel) with 7 has no problems what-so-ever. Maybe 6 was just a bad product?
