It's unlikely that someone who doesn't know how to program would be aspiring to do startup that takes a few years of practice in programming.
I can imagine it's because Nokia is (or used to be) a huge company. Also Scandinavian businesses are generally not very hierarchical.
I don't think the reason teenagers don't use contraception is because they want to get pregnant, but because they don't clearly see the implications. I know abortions are emotionally hard and if you don't see yourself having a future to protect it's harder to make that decision. Still as far as I know abortions are very accepted in Europe and it probably more likely that you have an abortion if your parents know you're pregnant. Especially if you have successful parents that can see the implications of having a child at an early age, which many underprivileged teenagers don't have.
No, not really. I actually feel underwhelmed quite frequently e.g. the reddit "fundraising" story two weeks ago. Don't get me wrong there are some advanced topics being discussed sometimes. But most of the time it's either opinion or layman's level non-technology topics.
But I also don't have a strictly CS background. I generally try not to express myself negatively though, but instead value the good parts and recognize that YC/HN is what it is.

Actually, there has been some discussion[1] about how the Pirate Partys platform would affect the GPL. But as most people involved have some understanding of the issues, you get less of the "x is theft", "x can't survive because of y", etc.
Fake whois data will probably just speed up the process for anyone who wishes to take you down. What you want to do is register your domain to an "anonymized" offshore company.
This might be harder for a B2C company as people won't be in front of computers as frequent, but try to get them logged in on a demo account when you talk to them on the phone.
Too me it sound like a symptom of too many women at the same level and inability of management to handle the situation. I've worked with both male and female sports teams, and I would say that there's about the same amount of friction. I do think that men generally are raised with more "teamwork" in mind, i.e. more men do team sports. Just seem like a reason to get more female managers.
Might be a cultural thing then [1]. I do agree that there are far more women in fashion design and production than men. But I can off the top of my head think of several "fashion startups" with (one or more as far as I know straight) male founders or head designers [2]. Something I can't say about women in technology startups.

Ok, I guess you mean retail then. But then I don't get your point as retail overall isn't overly women and gay male dominated. Sure, most stores cater to women and women's fashion retailers are generally going to have predominantly female clerks and store managers, but this doesn't translate to higher positions most of time.
Anyway, the whole issue for me isn't personal like I get impression of in the article. It's about the freedom to do whatever you want without being forced to fit in a predetermined mold, both for men and women.
Like I said there's much to be said on the subject and maybe there are some cultural differences. Also I have somewhat of a hard time expressing my thoughts on the subject as most of my reasoning on the subject has been in my native language. This probably isn't the most enthusiastic audience when it comes to this anyways.
There's a lot to say on this subject but basically it comes down to this:
What you think of as fashion is designing or observing women's high fashion and not something like traditional tailoring, watchmaking or other more male oriented fashion. There are straight men even in women's high fashion, but generally in higher positions. You also have straight men in all parts of outdoor clothing or sportswear, which is more utilitarian but most of the time still has a higher price point than fast fashion. Why men's high fashion is more conservative than women's is another story.
That being said. While women's gender role are stricter, men's gender role is much less questioned. Probably because of the disadvantages being less measurable.
Why would you want to depend on Adobe (or any other company) if you don't have to? You still have to implement your own technology if you want to be in mobile phones, set-top boxes etc. Spotifys cost of scaling is going to be relatively low with Debian, C++, Python, Vorbis, p2p etc.
You should also ask them about their "Flattr for comments" model. I can't remember where I heard about it, it might not even be implemented yet. Anyways, the idea is to give the site hosting the user generated content (comments etc.) part of the revenue. When you've upvoted a comment you could get the option to Flattr it, if you have added Flattr to you profile etc.
I know they say they are but Flattr isn't a micropayment service, it's a microdonation service. It's more like an "upvote" than a paypal payment. It's also about recognizing that most Internet users also are "content creators". One examples that comes to mind is social news sites. While people might like what you're doing, generally you get a lot of traffic that is notoriously hard to convert. If donating were as easy as upvoting maybe things could change.
While signup is a challenge, it will be as hard as getting someone wanting to donate the minimum amount (currently €2 I think) to someone. Also it's still in beta and hasn't been "out" for very long.
Last. While I think this "thread" is somewhat decent, could people please minimize the negativity. When it comes to entrepreneurship it's very easy to be right, as most things fail. This describes what I mean better than I can: http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/2009/09/the-problem-...
They do "preach the gospel of freedom". If you e.g. have a look at their press releases, you'll see that very few of them are about copyright. But these don't make it very far across the Internet and with obscurity as their greatest threat in the upcoming elections, this kind of "propaganda" is necessary. Also the current issues regarding the pirate bay isn't about copyright as such, but instead about where liability stops.
