With how we build it, the content doesn't really matter. The AI and Typesense embedding model handles many of the relationships, so the AI tools don't need to do all the work. Mostly just calling "search_knowledge".

Most teams do not suffer from a lack of information. They suffer from context being scattered across notes, chats, docs, URLs, tickets, and AI sessions, with no reliable way to retrieve the right piece at the right time. Even a good search is not enough if the underlying memory layer is fragmented or opaque.

We have not seen many setups that preserve context and decisions well over time without ongoing cleanup. Usually, people fall back on some combination of repeated prompting, summaries, manual docs, or isolated memory within a single tool. That works for a while, but it decays.

Our view is that the better approach is not endless summarization. It provides teams with a shared memory layer where notes, decisions, URLs, and reusable context remain inspectable, editable, and portable, so retrieval has something durable to work with in the first place.

Is this a typo or is this $100/year as in 8.33/month?

I've looked at all the providers and couldn't find one that was flexible enough and also isnt overcharging, I.e. paying for the service, credit card charges, payment gateway, etc.

That said, I've found cheddargetter to work quite nice. Has an API, includes the payment gateway, and provides enough flexibility for custom prices per subscription. So far I've implemented three startups with it.

Hope this helps.

I already did some time ago. I got a surface pro and until you own one you don't know what you are missing. The form factor is simply awesome.

Then I also used to have a xps13 with Ubuntu. Great machine.

I've recently switched to a T460s with 20gb ram, 1tb SSD and i7. Comes with all the ports you need and want. It's light and fast. Used to run Ubuntu for a while full time. Recently switched to windows 10 and the WSL is a game changer. Reminds me of the good old Mac days.

I don't think there is an issue with email per se. It's more that there hasn't been much "evolution" in its use.

Though, Google and other companies have definitely tried to make email "better".

After an elaborate phase of talking to hundreds of companies, I've created a platform that has the approach of "collaborative email". It's providing an additional layer to email that helps companies to keep track of all those customer emails (you can check it out at http://helpmonks.com).

In any case, I think in adding additional service around email is where the real disruption lies.

I used to be a customer of PIA but the speed wasn't good anymore and I got blocked.

I switched to ExpressVPN and they are very reliable. Especially if you travel in Asia.

In addition, they have dedicated router firmwares so you can secure your whole network.

Email is pretty much here to stay. It is more that users and organizations need to "learn" how to manage emails better. Furthermore, email might not be the main way of communication with your customers anymore, but still will be one of the main pillars.

This is one of the reasons, why I started my 6th company called Helpmonks (http://helpmonks.com) in this space. It simply helps organizations to collaborate on emails. My company is not the only one in this space.

This is a question that comes at the right time for me.

I just went two weeks with a Asus UX305 and Ubuntu 14.04. Everything worked out of the box. Beautiful hardware, too.

Since I run all my servers on Ubuntu LTS I really wanted to go with Ubuntu Desktop.

However, after two weeks I'm going back to MacOS X. Reason is that I'm just way faster with MacOS X. Additionally, and I hate to say this, but it is not the OS alone anymore theses days.

Applications can make or break your decision. Something like Sourcetree is awesome, Arq (for backup) is a simple no-brainer. The option to use Time-Machine and re-install a Mac is painless. Dash for documentation simply rocks, Slack as an independent app is very convenient, etc.

This is something I thought about it for a long time, too. I've been following this for years and was always suspicious about all the "free" services and what their motivation is behind it all.

Here is a list of apps/extensions I use:

- Firefox with disconnect.me, HTTPS everywhere, Adblock.

- Never EVER use Google for search. Always use DuckDuckGo.

- Deleted my Facebook account. - Never ever use Skype (I refuse anyone who wants to use skype) There are other alternatives.

- Whenever possible I use a VPN (mine it privateinternetaccess)

- Never use any storage services like Dropbox, OneDrive, GDrive, etc.

Now that being said, I struggle with some "habits" and alternatives. These are:

- Google Apps, especially email. There is a reason why it works and so many people use it. I've tried Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Airmail, Outlook, etc. But somehow always go back to gmail :-(

On another note, I wonder what people use for an operating system?!?

I myself use MacOS X. I run many servers, all of them are Ubuntu Servers. I love Linux. However for a desktop app, I need to be productive and fast. Every time I want to switch to Linux I find some app that is not working and I need to use a VM for that.

Is it even worth considering a switch of operating systems? Too paranoid?

What: I'm working on http://helpmonks.com right now. It helps teams to manage the never ending flow of emails.

Why: Some have similar tools, but they all concentrate on the HelpDesk aspect of it. Instead of re-inventing the wheel we simply integrate with popular existing helpdesk apps. Furthermore, we encourage sales and marketing to use our app.

Thanks.

I can't even visit Europe without a Schengen visa

Where are you from? US citizens can freely come to Europe without the need for any Visa. You can even freely travel within the Schengen area without showing your passport once.

As a company owner, wanting to open an office, deploy people and live in the chosen country, is much much easier in Europe then in the US.

Just about every country welcomes you and even offers help in the form of some sort of fund or start-up program.

Thank you for your comment. As a fact I know 10+ US citizens that have had no problem coming to Germany and live and work. All self employed and sufficient to provide for themselves for some time.

It might have changed, but the last time I've checked it was way easier then getting any Visa in the USA.

Speaking off, yes, we tried to get a B* visa but the 67000 visa they issue per year was filled within 3 days. One can apply again in June/July (not exactly sure).
