I'd be really interested to see how your set-up works. Would it be possible for you to share your files/code and a short description of how you implemented your set-up? I am happy for you to remove/sanitize sensitive details relating to your portfolio. However, I would love to understand how I can develop a solution like this for myself.

Lovely design, but unfortunately loading times are super slow for me... The header and footer loads fine, but the loading graphic for the middle section was turning for approx. 60-90 seconds before the content loaded :(

Then, once the content is loaded, the animation between the "About Framous > Select a layout > Select Photos > Select a Frame > Get Framous!" pages also takes too long, which spoils the user experience in my opinion.

Great start though. If you can improve these issues, I think you will have a really nice site.

Will this be available for playback later also? Timezone differences mean it will be hard to tune in live.

I think billybob is arguing that a short message/url like "Find this device online: www.example.com/device" is better than both "Find this device online: {QR Code}" AND "Visit http://www.example.com/cms/products/industrial?product=09278....

This could also be an awesome way to disrupt the courier business in cities.

e.g. sender logs a job online (& provides payment details), sender prints a barcode sticker, sender drops off package with the building doorman/concierge and/or walks to designated quadcopter landing zone adjacent building, outgoing package scanned and loaded onto quad-copter, quad-copter delivers package to recipient's landing zone, quad-copter/system sends notification to recipient to advise that package has been delivered, recipient goes to quad-copter landing zone to collect package, recipient scans barcode or provides electronic signature to acknowledge receipt.

The concept of "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you?" is implicitly biased as it project's your worldview/morals/values/etc onto the "others" in question.

If the goal is to understand, support and/or show respect for the uncontacted tribes, I think the focus should be adjusted to: "Do unto others as they want you to do unto them".

+1 Impressive site. Clean design sets this site apart as a great example in this nascent niche.

One constructive criticism: I would add some more space around the "Search" functionality. This area is a little cluttered at present (too close to the preview image on the right and the high level process text/images below) and my eye I think you would improve conversions by emphasising this section a little more (since performing a search should be the "call to action" for visitors).

Move to Australia and work for the Government... I know plenty of developers earning AUD$80+/hr on 2000hr/yr contracts (i.e. earning approx. AUD$160k/yr).

If this actually happened with key web properties (e.g. ALL NewsCorp papers, or Twitter, or NASCAR/NFL/etc exclusively on one search engine), I predict it would turn into a land grab which would ultimately just lead to segregation. However, the key question in my mind is:

Would users follow the sites they trust OR find new sites via the search engine they trust?

I'm guessing people would use the search engine they trust to source new information and then visit the sites they love (which have been excluded from their search) as a destination (i.e. going to WSJ.com direct and then searching content there)...

Google would still remain the No 1 search engine but WSJ etc would then have to rely more on their active user base. Not a smart decision for Mr Murdoch in my opinion.

Certain characteristics simply hold more value to some individuals over others, which is why some people choose to share their lives with blondes and others with brunettes or redheads. Similarly, some people choose to have Macs; while others choose Windows or Linux.

Suggestions that WomanA is "better" than WomanB are incredibly subjective e.g. a 5/10 to you might be a 10/10 to someone else. Although such suggestions can promote passionate discourse (as in this thread), inevitably the arguments that ensue end in deadlock - where you realise that no matter how much you argue, you and your critics will never see eye to eye.

It depends on your definition of success... I believe you can be very successful as an individual, but this will be limited by your capacity.

One person can go only so far (not that this is by any means insignificant e.g. PlentyOfFish apparently serves millions of uniques and earns US$10,000 per day with a staff of one). "Singles" will inevitably hit a glass ceiling where they will need more resources if they want to break through.

The secret to continuing your initial success is ensuring that these additional resources can leverage off your initial good work AND add value of their own in excess of the complexity added/strain they place on you and your new "organisation". Far easier said than done.
