If you're interested, I built www.minute7.com which is a time (and expense) tracker that does integrate directly with Intuit's QuickBooks (we're even near the top of their app store listing on apps.intuit.com as the only major player without major funding and a huge sales team :)

+1 for Plex - works perfectly from the browser/iPhone/iPad/Android phones and tablets. Great Chromecast integration.

This is a very interesting pitch to the consumer: gourmet food/higher quality ingredients at fast food prices.

This is entirely different from the imagined pitch to investors: same food, cheaper production, higher profits.

It will be fascinating to see what they come up with and how they productize - it sounds like they think equipment sales is just an ancillary revenue source or something they "might do later" at present, but perhaps they'll change their minds if and when they have functioning burger bots.

I'm on an iPhone 5S and it significantly diminishes my working battery life unless I manually close the app.

What's great is that after the update, it's already working better for me. For what it's worth, when I called Apple about it, both support techs I spoke to had experienced the issues as well. It seemed to be correlated with large inboxes and whether "All Mail" was enabled as an IMAP folder in Gmail's settings. It was generally recommended to not be enabled in 10.8 and lower, and is now recommended in 10.9+.

I'm interested to know - before the 10.9 upgrade, did you have "All Mail" visible in IMAP in your Gmail label settings?

Also, about how many messages did you have in the inbox that worked?

Users of Apple's Mail.app who also used Gmail have basically had non-functioning or semi-functioning email since the Mavericks OS X update. I was one of the affected users and have spent hours dealing with the issue, then eventually just reverted to web mail until they fixed the problems.

I believe it was already broken as of the 10.9 update, or at least it was for me.

Really appreciate your comment. My startup, Nulu, is servicing Latin America with an English learning product with daily news content. Something you mentioned is that Apple makes no effort to cater to those who have no credit cards. Can you tell me a little more about how you and others would prefer to purchase devices and apps? How about products and services over the web?

I'm really quite interested as we're facing the same challenges you're speaking about.

Very interesting that people are saying things like "significant whitespace" and "too similar to python" - I personally love Python and I like that coffeescript bears some resemblance to it. I voted "Coffeescript - Like" because it removes many of the mundane aspects of JS programming.

Definitely doesn't solve many of JS's problems, but it certainly makes things easier when writing client side apps. We use it a lot for Backbone development.

Our company also uses Cap extensively and we really appreciate all your hard working building and maintaining it. I totally feel your pain reading responses about bugs, test coverage, etc. I urge you to consider whether you can get a couple of trusted allies or colleagues involved in putting Cap 3 out. I think it could be a huge boon to those of us who like the idea of modularized code and perhaps you can find a buffer or person who is willing to field some or all of the influx of bug reports (directly ask the community if so!)

I couldn't agree more. My startup, Nulu ( http://www.nulu.com/ ) , is focused on two big things: bringing people new and interesting content every day (we use news content as the basis for learning) and super high quality support (native speaker translation done at the phrase level, as well as professional voice artist audio for the whole story).
