I agree, I was more-or-less tiptoeing around. My question was definitely rhetorical and I am highly suspicious of the source.

As an American, I can tell you the fact that this comes from the GOP (and not an unbiased source) is a giant red flag.

I'd rather not make this political, but should one be suspicious of something coming from a specific political party (in this case the GOP) rather than a neutral/bipartisan source?

Once I figured out what was happening to me was anxiety I also started exploring meditation. Often times I can feel the anxiety first thing in the morning and I know I need to have a nice mediation session to calm me down (and usually the helps throughout my entire day). So odd that this article is on HN today. I recently purchased a Tamagotchi for my five year old son and I feel a ton of responsibility for it as I don't want to disappoint my son. Unfortunately it has died a few times from accidental reset or being accidentally left in the car throughout the day. But over the past week or so while he is in school, I make sure the Tamagotchi is with me everywhere I go so I can ensure it's healthy throughout the day.

Same, I've always done this for anything like this (i.e. tutorials), just to make sure what I'm learning sticks with me a bit more.

I got a few sentences in and couldn't take it seriously so came back here to read the comments and see if anyone else felt the same way.

I was thinking the same thing. In addition, there have been a ton of tech/startup related layoffs, its odd that this one is getting so much attention and support from the community.

Edit: Perhaps I'm a bit bitter, as I was laid off because of the pandemic after 4+ years at my previous employer, and left on my own to figure things out. I imagine the experience was the same for others in a similar situation.
