I live in a village on Dartmoor, UK, complete with a pub dating back to the 12th century. But the village shop has disappeared, the internet and even the water connection seem increasingly fragile. On the other hand, working from home in my own office with a view across the valley, and working on our woodland are great for body and soul. Also, there are enough children around that our kids don’t feel isolated - at the same time we’ve never worried about traffic when they go off on their explorations.
Same here. We can live without the extra pixels. Space is the barrier though. We have a huge old cowshed that the previous owner turned into a snooker room, and we turned into a library with remote control screen. Makes watching a film more of an event. Nice playing games at “life size” scales too. We’ve been through three projectors in 15 years at ~£350 each.
We had a power cut while on holiday. No real damage or loss but the bottom layer is now re-frozen icecream, probably caused by something not quite sealed being stacked sideways.
This has always seemed to me to be the inherent contradiction in free will but I struggle to elaborate it. If it’s my choice then doesn’t that mean it’s determined in some way? In which case it’s not free. But if it’s random then that’s not “will” either. What then is the thing that could be both free and willed?
According to my GP they had a batch for the over 65s but they ran out pretty quickly. I usually get free flu jabs due to asthma but although it's strongly recommended I'm not aware of it being a definite priority group.
