It seems like we (good people) would want Apple to prevent these stolen, parted-out components from being used as replacement parts. Apple could prevent that, in theory through software that looks at secure serial numbers from components ... but how will this comport with "right to repair"?

I think you are very wrong about a couple of things here. According to EFF: "IT APPEARS LIKELY THAT ALL RECENT COMMERCIAL COLOR LASER PRINTERS PRINT SOME KIND OF FORENSIC TRACKING CODES, NOT NECESSARILY USING YELLOW DOTS." [1]

And if by "commercial" you mean "for the business market, not the consumer/home market", then that is also wrong. Plenty of consumer grade laser printers, including mine, print yellow tracking dots. If the EFF is correct, essentially all laser printers sold now put some sort of tracking info on the page.

As mentioned in the git README (at the bottom) there is at least one Whisper port that runs natively on Android. It does not run as fast on an Android phone as on iPhone (because of whisper.cpp optimizations for Apple silicon) but it still runs pretty well. In my tests, it does not run as fast as sending the raw audio across the network to a fast server for transcript there, which is what this post is about. But give it a try.

The "signal path" is simply the presence of more money, which means that purchasers have more money to pay.

I think what the daughter was saying is that the abuse and craziness of her father would, in a sense, give some explanation for her own initially troubled path.
