Okay they get arrested, maybe charged with a crime. Others will get doxxed and most will lose their jobs. They'll become social outcasts.

Do you really want a bunch of very angry people to effectively be pushed into a corner, demonized by society and so on?

This will end up having very big unintended consequences.

The problem with this is that it doesn't end with parler and similar. It ends with a new bill being passed where the ability to make communication platforms of anything is effectively stripped from any small person from making. It will be delegated solely to big corporations with government approval.

Really do you want the government to do something similar to the "night of the long knives" like what happened in Germany? Think about what type of message that is sending and what type of society you want to live in.

I find it very hard to believe that people get the impression that Trump was the fascist when you are over here advocating for a fascist method of silencing opposition groups.

I am a conservative and right now in the community there is talks of using high-anonymity tools like TOR to go completely underground. We're trying to educate everyone on how to use these tools as quickly as possible.

Law enforcement/FBI have never been good at stopping terrorist attacks. The only ones they stop are the ones where the attacker is being stupid obvious like openly talking about it online. Most of the time they let them go through because "they need to build a case".

The tech community has already been hitting the drum beat for stripping our liberties and massively expanding the surveillance programs under the guise of "stopping terrorism".

Why do you think Biden was quick to identify the protest as terrorism? It will set the tone for the rest of his administration. Civil liberties will be stripped in the name of security/stopping terrorism.

Deplatforming just encourages people to seek out alternative platforms to use that have conservative moderations instead.

Right wing going forward will not be going away. In fact, it will grow and the staunchness will become more hardline.

I'm a conservative and recall the planning of the rally. No specifics were given other than "you need to be there because it will be crazy". Everyone hyped it up from there.

They aren't being squeezed out of the debate. They simply leave those platforms and move to alternative platforms instead. I'm personally a conservative myself and have left twitter for parler and gab instead. Many are doing the same. There are also a lot of other communities as well.

Most of the big tech companies have been taken over by activist employees anyways. Look at coinbase. They had to do a purge just to get rid of the employees that weren't working and focusing on non-company issues instead.

Palantir also had to completely leave because there was so much pressure being put on them in the valley.

Yeah, I agree. I've started reducing the amount of social media I assume and deleting certain people off my networks. Way too much vile behavior on social media and it is a net negative to my life. I suggest others to do the same.

I get banned all the time from reddit. So much so that I have like 10 alt accounts premade so I can just slowly shift from one to the next. Sometimes I don't even know why I get banned.

Yup and it might backfire in twitter's face because now apparently there is a mass exodus of conservatives going to platforms like parler. It is very likely that Trump will switch platforms and that will bring pressure on the stock price.

I sold my TWTR shares and advise others to do the same.

It is possible the incoming Biden administration will use anti-trust against big tech and could implement laws to strip out the ability to do bulk data collection.

BA has all the tell tale signs that it will go into decline. I see it as an company similar to IBM or GE that just slowly withered away as competitors took the market share.
