Seeing some of comments about price.. just thought I can put more info here since that's where I'm from and some points are not mentioned, especially the previous plastic reduction effort by Taiwan started in 2002.

In 2002, the restriction on plastic bags that are thinner than 0.06mm was imposed to all stores, but it was not a complete ban. Stores that offer plastic bags thicker than 0.06mm need to charge customers. The idea behind thicker bag is reusability. Two types of responses from stores: Stores started providing thinner bag as long as they are bio-degradable (Link 1), or they provide thicker bag as long as customers are charged. Customer's response: Since 2002, 71.7 reduction in plastic bag use in supermarkets, and 43.4 reduction in plastic bag use in stores. (Link 2, Link 3)

And just a side note, Taipei started being more aggressive since 2000 by charging garbage bags. You have to purchase government issued garbage bags if you want to throw your garbage out of your house. (Mentioned in link 4)

One of the most essential part about Scrum is that it aligns the understanding across all the stakeholders, including business owner, customer, designer, developer etc. Hence the meeting, prioritization, backlog, daily standup/daily write up as development process artifact etc to focus on the priorities that create the most business value under flexible scope, fixed time and fixed money. scope, time and money are the three variables of a development process. At the end I think the author is proposing with the process for a flexible scope, flexible time and flexible money, which often is a internal project that doesn't have direct business applicable value. In this case, the author should really just break into another side team without business owner and, or even without project owner and simply use Kanban as the solution, instead of sticking around with Scrum. I believe every process has its shortcomings, but instead of pointing the wrongs, I'd appreciate more if the author describe what the situation/stage/type of this project, and why scrum doesn't work in this case, and how a different approach can optimize the outcomes.

I'm a native mandarin speaker from Taiwan and now living in NY. I think it just comes down to the fact that english is not everyone's first language there.

For your example, people end up pronounce A.P.P because not everyone knows that app comes from `application` and therefore you might run into conversations with people speaking with different pronunciations. Some people pronounce 'app' the normal way, and some people pronounce 'app' similar to (ape).

After awhile, people would explain what they're trying to say by spelling out, and eventually you'd learn to just say A.P.P instead of attempting to incorrectly pronounce the word.

Same thing goes with Facebook, which is referred as F.B, and Instagram, which is usually referred as I.G

Isn't this called ChatOps? Slack acts as an hub for all the api wrappers. Ex: you should be able to type commands that execute on behave of you rather than ssh into your machine to type the same command. The title should read the future of DevOps is chat. UI is a different topic

Just to add, the original post has been around for months, and I have not yet seen the actual reference to the speech that he was giving in either video or audio, so it seems like a fake post to me. And the wordings are made to be really strong to catch attentions.

OP here: To clarify, I did not agree with her keeping 100% of the equity. At the time, I mainly wanted to focus on developing the product first, thinking that she would find herself ridiculous after seeing the complete app. We never reached an agreement/conclusion and I have not signed anything yet. And thank you so much for all the advice. It has been really helpful!

I know it is not meant for computers, but I have seen many of people selling Apple computers online since the models are pretty standardized. It could make the list too long, but I think it would be a good addition it.
